The Office Escape: A 6K Intermission at Vrijbroekpark
Today was supposed to be a typical office grind, back-to-back meetings, screens, and maybe a rushed sandwich. But fate (and a last-minute meeting cancellation) handed me a golden ticket: time.
With a window wide enough to squeeze in some nature, I made a break for it, quick drive to Vrijbroekpark in Mechelen, camera in one hand, expectations in the other. And honestly? Nature completely overdelivered.
A boardwalk stretched across shimmering water under a sun that finally felt like spring. Wisteria arched over gravel paths like purple chandeliers. Frogs chilled on lily pads like they were meditating through a spa day.
Not only did I clock 8000 steps and 6 solid kilometers, but I also unclocked a few mental knots. Turns out, skipping a spreadsheet for a stroll might be the most productive thing I did all day.
Next time your calendar unexpectedly clears? Grab it. Walk it out. Breathe something better than office air. Your brain will send a thank you note.
