Time for the web maker

I have been sharing so many jumping spider, since it is rather easy to photograph, now it is time for me to share some of them that are weaving web to catch their prey

For today I have the small Nephila pilipes. Nephila pilipes (northern golden orb weaver or giant golden orb weaver[2]) is a species of golden orb-web spider. It resides all over countries in East and Southeast Asia as well as Oceania. It is commonly found in primary and secondary forests and gardens.

The size of this spider can be even bigger, maybe three times of the size of the spider that I have today. And they also usually will have a very big web, so that they can catch more prey into their web.

It also produces a very sticky and strong web, and with that reason when I was a child I usually used their web to catch dragonflies for meals. Yep, you heard it right, I used to eat dragonflies, they taste so good. Maybe that will be another story in the future, talking about some exotic food from Bali. hehehe
