Are You Just a Chorister, or Do You Really Love to Sing?

It's been a while here in this community, and I thought about sharing some great thoughts here today. So today, what brought about this post was the fact that I thought and thought within myself, and I was able to relate some things that usually happen in the music world now to reality. There is always a difference between being a choir and knowing how to sing, and you are having a passion for music. These things are really different things we really need to know as music. But sometimes some take the three together for one, and they do not know the difference between them.

You can be a chorister who sings and not have the ability to sing. Because knowing how to sing is also of different types. You can be a backup singer and a lead singer. Sometimes you might be a chorister and still be able to lead songs very well, while some might not, and it can be the other way around. But I have seen some people who feel when they are in the choir it is compulsory for them to sing even when they do not know how to do it, and they are not willing to learn.

Now I will share an example that I witnessed some days ago. There was this lady in the choir who claims to be a chorister, but she does not have the zeal to be in the choir because she complains almost Every time it's time for rehearsal, and what she does is that she gives reasons for her not to be available for the rehearsal, and then when she has finally been absent, then she strolls in and then expects the other choir to be rested for her to minister in the choir, which is not supposed to be so.

As a good leader who knows what he is doing very well, you will not expect me to entertain you that does not come for rehearsal always to those that have been dedicating their time to come for rehearsal to you that doesn't come at all, and then you will want to be ahead of them. It's never going to happen. Becoming a chorister demands a lot, from your dedication to your willingness to work even when it's not convenient, and then your ability to learn to improve yourself is very important also because you cannot rely on what you have learned so that you won't get overthrow when you go to the outside world.

Now, coming back to what I was saying before I diverted. Music, generally speaking, is not something we can do when you are compelled to do it. It is something that we really need to propel ourselves to do because when the motivation is not there again, one will keep being triggered without anyone. Most of the time we do music based on what we stand to gain from it, but do we really have to have zeal and passion for it? When we have the zeal and the passion for music, you don't need anyone to tell you anything before you do what is needed of you because your passion will keep making you want to do more. In the end, we need to keep pushing hard to achieve the desired result we want musically, and then we can stand out amongst others.

I sometimes get annoyed when I see people in choir for years without really improving. But what can I do, it is all about how passionate a person is with what he or she is doing

When we are able to do it with minimum effort is the greenlight that we are in the right field. Some things are learnt from the start, while somethings require advance in them because the gift is already there
