Curator Cat: June is "Adopt a Shelter Cat" Month!
Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Snacktime
Today, I wanted to talk about the fact that the month of June is "Adopt a Shelter Cat" month.
All us Felines here at Curator Cat central are shelter cats. Were it not for the good people at our local animal shelter, there's a good chance we wouldn't even be alive, having been abandoned as helpless kittens.

But the shelter does more than just take in helpless cats and kittens, they also make sure that we are adopted out to good homes with Hoomans who will love us and take good care of us for the rest of our lives.
In addition, they take in and rehome adult cats whose owners can no longer keep them... or, as often holds true here in our town where a lot of older retired Hoomans live, have lost their homes when their Hoomans passed away.
Nala in the afternoon sun!
Of course, the Shelter volunteers also make sure that all the cats and kittens offered for adoption are in good health. And, of course, all kittens brought in are given their shots and are spayed and neutered to ensure that the epidemic of street cats is contained as much as possible.
How you can help is to adopt a shelter cat of your own, next time you are considering a new furry family member. I know you Hoomans sometimes dream of having a fancy pedigreed cat, but please consider getting a shelter cat instead!
Shangri and Shadow in the sun
Shelter cats are beautiful and loyal feline companions, and they generally have better health than pedigreed cats who have been exposed to fewer natural "bugs" and potential infection agents.
All in all, it's a win-win for everyone involved... but particularly for the shelter cat!
Thanks for stopping by my cat blog, and I hope to see you again!

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communities!
If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?
These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!
HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

Hope there’ll be lots of new adopters of these cats this week.
Hopefully so! There are always lots of kittens born in the spring, and they are all of "adoption age" now.
