How To Make Crochet Rose Earrings.
Blush pink.

A client reached out to me this week to make a crochet item for her. She said she had a wedding to attend and she wanted ‘statement’ rose crochet earrings in blush pink colour to be precise.
It's after I accepted this crochet order that I realized I do not really use light and shimmering colours while making my crochet projects. This majorly has to do with the fact that I do not really like shouty colours. However, after making this project, I fell in love with blush pink colour. The colour is gentle but it still greatly stands out.

The fact that my client is pairing this pieces of earrings with a black dress makes me even more excited. Without further ado, let me take you through the process of making these beautiful crochet rose earrings.

Items Needed
🤍: One skein of yarn.
🤍: 2.5 mm crochet hook.
🤍: Darning needle.
🤍: Earring hooks.
🤍: Jump rings.
🤍: A pair of scissors.
🤍: Chain nose pliers.

Procedures
Usually, I use two strands of yarn simultaneously when making crochet projects but I wanted this pair of earrings to be as light weight as possible, so I used just one strand and a small hook size.

I started by making a chain of 66. The extra six chains would act as turning chains.

After making my foundation chain, I put a double crochet stitch into the sixth space from the hook. Without making a chain, I inserted a double crochet stitch, a chain of two and another double crochet stitch into the third space. I repeated this pattern till the end: count two spaces and into the third space insert two double crochet stitches separated by a chain of two.

For row two, I made a chain of two and turned my work over. The chain two counts as a stitch. Next, I inserted a double crochet stitch into the chain two space from the previous row, made a chain of three and inserted two more double crochet stitches into the same space.

For the rest of row two, I repeated this pattern: four double crochet stitches separated by three chains.

For the third and final row, I made a chain and turned my work over. Then, into the chain three space from the previous row, I made seven double crochet stitches and into the smaller space, I made a single crochet stitch. For the rest of the row, I repeated this pattern: seven double crochet stitches into the big chain spaces and one single crochet into the smaller spaces.

By the end of the third row, I left a long strand of yarn that I used to sew the rose afterwards.

The next thing I did was roll the piece outwardly in a circular manner. This produced the rose motif and finally, I sewed the ends neatly together to ensure the rose wouldn't loosen.

The last thing I did was insert the jump rings and the earrings hoops together and the earrings were ready to be worn.

The client came for collection and when she tried on the earrings, I squealed with so much happiness. The blush pink earrings complimented her skin tone perfectly. She said she loved it and looked forward to wearing it today at the wedding. I derived so much pleasure in making these earrings but I'd also love to know what you think of them? Would you wear them out? Which other colours do you suggest I make the rose earrings in?
