Passion refuel
Hello Hive
Two weeks ago, I began my journey into crotcheting, and I must say, it has been a good experience. Learning from scratch took time as I had no prior knowledge about it even though I would have learned it from my grandmother when I was younger. She was very good at knitting, but I didn't pay attention to it then because I thought it was an adult thing. It was a passion I neglected because I wished I could knit as well as my grandmother. After all, she knitted virtually all the baby cardigans I wore likewise my younger ones.
Recently, a friend of mine opened my eyes to the world of crotcheting and I saw the treasure that I lost due to ignorance. Well, it's never too late to learn. That ignited a new passion in me, and I began my journey into crotcheting. I contacted a few people that I thought could be of help, but everyone had one or two things to do that kept them busy. So I had no one around to put me through then I remembered the world had been made easy by technology. I can get virtually everything online. I resorted to YouTube videos for a beginner. It was difficult at first as I kept missing how to make a chain to begin crocheting. After several trials, I got the first process which was how to make a chain. I practiced that for days, making mistakes along the way, but I never gave up.
In a few days, I was already good at making chains, then I continued building on the chain to knit any other desired styles, be it objects or clothes. I continued learning on YouTube how to progress. I began gradually and in two days, I've been able to get my way around it. From a tiny chain, I was able to make a simple necklace for myself. It was like a dream come true, this was something I lost years ago but I'm able to gain it back thanks to a friend who ignited my passion.
Presently, I'm working on making a small handerkerchief for myself and forging ahead into making bigger things. It's a gradual process, and I'm not in a hurry. Learning takes time and the beauty of what one has learn will show forth at its appointed time, this is why I'm not despising my little beginning. No knowledge is a waste, what one think one doesn't need today might be one's savior tomorrow. I am a lover of knowledge and I'm not giving up. My crotchet journey is just starting and I believe I will do well as time goes on. I would love to see your comments and ways you think I can improve.
