How I Make My Own Liquid Clay

liquid clay.gif

Hello, how are you? As an artist with a lot of hobbies, sometimes the budget is not budgeting on how much art materials cost, so whenever I can, I will make something that will cost me less, and lately I fell inlove in making clay craft, and I am telling you materials are not that cheap LOL.

One of them is liquid clay, which will cost me 10 bucks to buy, so I challenge myself to do my research on how to make my own liquid clay, and luckily, I saw one, and the materials that are needed are already in my drawer.

So, liquid clay is used when making the donut glaze, sometimes on pancakes, etc.

Materials I Used:

  • White Polymer Clay
  • Glass Sheet
  • X-Acto Knife
  • Weighing Scale
  • Acrylic Rolling Pin
  • Spray Water Bottle
  • Clear Glue/Glue
  • Pallete Knife
  • Plastic Squeeze Bottle
  • Funnel

Craft Time!

It is up to you how much you're going to use to make liquid clay.

Then I condition in using acrylic rolling pin to soften the texture of the polymer clay. The clay I am going to use is so easy to condition, so it took me just a little time to soften it.

To soften it more, I spray the clay with just a little water.

Then knead it until the clay breaks down into a softer texture.

Then I pour about a teaspoon of glue.

Using this palette knife, I knead it for a few minutes.

To make the job easier, I use two pallete knife now, the clay is starting to melt, which is a good sign.

I added glue and water time to time until I got the texture I wanted.

I almost lost my mind mixing it LOL. Now the clay turns into a liquid form, but it still have crumb of clay, but it is fine.

23.JPG

Make sure the texture of the liquid clay is not too runny, just flowy enough to work with.

27.JPG

Time to transfer the liquid clay.

31.JPG

I bought this plastic squeeze bottle and a funnel, but

I think the funnel did not do its job LOL I just manually transferred the liquid clay and then cleaned the mess after.

I had extra half-liquid clay, and then I took note of the date when I made the liquid clay.

Now I have my handmade liquid clay.
