Cute Santa Earrings || Jewelry Community Christmas Contest
Season greetings everyone 😊I hope you are having a splendid Time.
Christmas is that time of the year a lot of us are always looking forward to it. Though I'm not a Christian, I have a lot of Christian friends that I always look forward to celebrating with. These friends make Christmas a joyous period for me. Presently, I have started feeling the Christmas season in the air here on the hive, and when I visit shopping malls, the various decorations and all the beautiful themes of the holiday are part of the things I enjoy so much.
When I see the Christmas contest in the jewelry community, the first thing that comes to my mind is to create one of my favorite things about Christmas, which is Santa Claus. Inspired by a
movie I watched some time back. I get to learn more about the reason behind Santa and Christmas in general, and the character Santa is forever in my heart. Its beautiful colors of red and white fascinate me and excite me a lot. So I choose to bead a Santa head as my entry into the contest.
So, dear friends, come along and let me walk you through the step-by-step process. The beading method I used was called brick stitch.
Materials needed
To make the cute Santa head above, I used the following beading materials.
✓ Red seed beads
✓ White seed beads
✓ four black seed beads
✓ light butter color seed beads
✓ 0.25 fishline
✓ scissors
✓ earrings hooks and
✓ a beading needle
Step-by-step process;
I start beading my Santa by first beading the cap using a brick stitch. I put four white beads on through my needle on a 120 cm fishline. Pull out my fishline through the second bead thread and then put two beads on again. I continue to add two white beads until I make ten blocks of white beads.
Once I beaded ten blocks, I made a turn and started to build the triangle upward using red beads.
I continued to build with red beads until I got to the last thread bead; I then put three white beads on my fishline, followed by my earring hook and then another three white beads. I put my fishline through the last bead thread and carefully passed it around my fishline to secure the work. And so I have the hat made.
Look at that, inviting right 😊
Here, I began to build the face by adding one roll of slight butter color beads; in the second roll, I still used slight butter color beads and introduced one black bead to the third bead on both sides, forming the eyes.
This is followed by another roll of butter-colored beads with red-colored beads on a fourth of the bead to form the mouth. Second to the last roll, I added one butter color to both sides and then four white beads in the middle. And I finished the last roll with four white beads.
This is the last part, creating the mustache; I passed my fishline to the end of the first butter color bead. I then put five white beads on my fishline and passed it through the same bead I came out from. I passed my needle to come out on the next last butter color bead, and this time, I added nine beads to my needle and then passed it through the same bead it came out from.
I continued to repeat this process, only that I was adding two beads to the next fringe until I reached the two rolls in the middle, and then I began to reduce the beads by two. When I make the last one, I pass my fishline around until I'm certain the work is well secured before cutting off the excess fishlines; you know, I wouldn't want my Santa to drop to pieces when it's making people's Christmas wishes come true, hehe.
I simply repeat all the steps above to make the second one of the earrings.
