Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - Datasheet Review post!
What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit in the game of Warhammer 40,000
The last of the Indexes! A new challenge!
Right, I am finally ahead and by my best estimations as I explained in this Post, I should be able to keep ahead of the release curve and get the remainder of the Indexes reviewed before those Codex releases.
So I embark on a new challenge. I have calculated that there are roughly 148 reviews to do. I have chosen my frequency and have given myself 96 days to review them all. That means that I am aiming at Day 96 being the 21st of July 2025!
Today is Day 14/96.
I have reviewed 21/148.
Time elapsed: 14.58%
Review Completion: 14.18%
Nearly caught up!
Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $226 to pay off!
Every bit counts!
Back to the review!
Chaos Daemons, Bloodthirster
10th Edition Index
The most favoured of Khorne, Blooththirsters are large shards of their master's will made manifest on the battlefield. They are fast, they can fly, they are tough and they deal loads of damage in melee. They even have short-ranged shooting.
They are not Epics, so you could use more than one if you wished but they are 305pts each so...
Let's check their stats and abilities!
Stats
Movement 12"
Toughness 11
Save 3+/4++ (armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 18
Ld 6+
OC 5
Weapons
Standard weapons: Hellfire Breath, Great Axe of Khorne
Weapon options: This model can exchange its Great Axe of Khorne for an Axe of Khorne and one of the following:
- Blood Flail
- Lash of Khorne
Ranged Weapons
Hellfire Breath
12" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on Auto, S5, AP-1 and 1 Damage each.
Torrent (This weapon hits automatically, just roll for number of shots)
Ignores Cover (The target unit cannot claim Benefit of Cover against this weapon)
Bloodflail
12" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 2+, S16, AP-3 and D6+1 Damage each.

Axe of Khorne - Sweep
16 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S8, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.
Abilities
Deep Strike - If this unit arrives on the Battlefield from Reserves, it can be set up anywhere on the battlefield more than 9" from enemy models.
Greater Daemon of Khorne (Aura)
While friendly Khorne Legiones Daemonica units are within 6" of this model, they are within this army's Shadow of Chaos.
Daemon Lord of Khorne (Aura)
While friendly Khorne Legiones Daemonica units are within 6" of this model, each time those units make Melee attacks, they are at +1 to Hit.
Relentless Carnage
At the end of the Fight phase, you can select one enemy unit in engagement range of this model and roll 8x D6. For each 4+ that unit suffers a Mortal Wound.
Thoughts
Right so let's break it down:
Stats: Fast, tough, no weaknesses really. S12+ Weapons are needed to get a 3+ to wound against this model.
Shooting: Has a flamer always. Can downgrade melee slightly to get a one-shot heavy attack or a multi-shot anti-medium infantry.
Melee: Greater Daemon of the Blood God! Of course it is really great in this regard
Abilities:
Makes your nearby Khorne units have defenses and more accurate in melee.
Its personal ability cause Mortals at the end of the Fight phase is interesting! Instead of Charging in and causing Mortals before striking, this is the other way around. This might give you the opportunity to decide to try kill off something specific which is strategically valuable.
Meanwhile, how to deal with it: Lascannons and better in shooting. Mortal Wounds. Grenades.
Screen and use sacrificial units t slow it down or respond with something equally nasty in melee!
That makes 9 Chaos Daemon Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 18% Completed! The total of the remaining Index reviews is now 124.
Thank you for reading!
