Space Wolves incoming!
As explained in This post about new reveals at Adepticon the Space Wolves are suddenly being launched and dropped on our heads suddenly!
Thus my time for reviewing their Datasheets is running out. I have 34 Reviews to do, I am trying to maintain a fast pace so I will give myself 17 days including today to complete all of these. That means that the last day of this personal challenge will be the 15th of April 2025!

Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear
With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.
I am collecting funds in the following ways:
- Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
- Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
- Selling some of the collection to friends.
At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $242 to pay off!

The whole project has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.
I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Space Wolves, Ulrik the Slayer

Ulrik the Slayer is likely the oldest Non-Dreadnought Space Marine currently alive in the setting of Warhammer 40,000. Let me explain how I know that.
Well... Commander Dante of the Blood Angels is means to be around 900 years old. Logan Grimnar is over 700 years old. This is then a rough 150-200 year difference.
Well Urik had been a Space Wolf, starting as a Blood Claw, then became a Grey Hunter and was then chosen by Wolf Lord Kruger to become one of his Wolf Guard. After some time in this position there came a day that the Wolf Lord was killed in battle. Ulrik avenged his Lord by killing the attackers single handedly.
After this point, all the members of a Great Company vote for a new Wolf Lord from the most respected senior members of the Wolf Guard. Urlik was chosen almost unanimously!
However, he DECLINED the position, saying that he is not a leader of men, but rather a tutor. And so he became an Wolf Priest. I have read a bit about this process. Space Wolves do not just turn about and say: Hey I want to be a Wolf Priest. Wolf Priests are BOTH Chaplains and Apothecaries in the Space Wolves Chapter. Meaning that they have to study the arts and science of both and be tested to be proficient in this.
You need to teach a Space Viking bodyguard hero.... Psychology, Spirituality, Medicine, Surgery, Genetics and more.
Ulrik did all of this... and then began teaching and training young Fenrisians and aspirant Space Wolves. A Wolf Priest is often called a Chooser of the Slain as they witness great heroes battle and often choose those that have fallen in those battles.
It was THEN, during this time of Ulrik's like that he picked up a boy off the ice on Fenris... the boy would later become Logan Grimnar! The 700+ year old Chapter Master!
So yes, I think Ulrik is at least 1000 years old!
Ulrik is 70pts to field and $35 to buy I believe.

Wolf Helm of Russ
Friendly Adeptus Astartes units within 6" of this model, their Leadership characteristic becomes 5+!
Slayer's Oath
At the start of the Fight Phase select and enemy in engagement with Ulrik's unit, Ulrik's unit re-rolls 1's to Hit and re-rolls 1's to Wound. If that target unit is a Monster, Character or Vehicle unit they can re-roll Hit and Wound rolls instead!
Thoughts
He is incredibly powerful and usually I run him with a squad of Blood Claws!
That makes 25 Space Wolves Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 71.42% Completed. The total Completed is 37.77% Complete! Can I review them all?!

Surely he'll be played by Anthony Hopkins in Henry Cavill's Amazon 40K series.
He looks pretty good with a beard! But I doubt Henry is doing anything with Space Wolves and Anthony is 87 right now, by the time anyone does anything with Space Wolves in movies... who knows? !LOL

Yeah, my guess is that Amazon would go Ultramarines since they tend to get all the love... but who knows.. the Space Wolves would tie into his character in The Witcher very nicely... but I think his personal 40K army is Custodes.
