Space Wolves incoming!

As explained in This post about new reveals at Adepticon the Space Wolves are suddenly being launched and dropped on our heads suddenly!

Thus my time for reviewing their Datasheets is running out. I have 34 Reviews to do, I am trying to maintain a fast pace so I will give myself 17 days including today to complete all of these. That means that the last day of this personal challenge will be the 15th of April 2025!

Hobby Fund - Working myself into the clear

With my hobby posts, I generate a hobby fund. 50% of the income goes into the fund. At the moment I put all my HBD earned from Warhammer posts into my alt account @zakl.hobbyfund.

I am collecting funds in the following ways:

• Blogging about Warhammer to earn HBD
• Accepting donations - Can be sent directly to @zakl.hobbyfund in HBD
• Selling some of the collection to friends.

At the current count I am paying off some hobby debts. I still have $254 to pay off!

The whole project has become quite the Challenge! With so many units to review in the game the consensus in the hobby community is that I will not have enough time to review all of the Datasheets before the new edition of Warhammer 40,000 came out.

I should have started when 10th edition launched!

Space Wolves, Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought

A Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought is a Chapter-specific Dreanought that has most of the same options a Space Marine Dreadnought (Castra-ferrum) would have with the addition of the Fenrisian Greataxe and Blizzard Shield and the Helfrost Cannon!

They cost 155pts to field and $62.50 to buy!

Weapons

Standard Armament: Assault Cannon, Storm Bolter and Dreadnought Combat Weapon.

This model can replace its Assault Cannon for one of the following:

• Multi-Melta
• Plasma Cannon
• Twin Lascannon
• Helfrost Cannon

This model's Dreadnought Combat Weapon and Storm Bolter can be replaced with one set of the following:

• 1x Missile Launcher and 1 Close Combat Weapon
• 1x Dreadnought Combat Weapon and 1 Heavy Flamer

This Model can replace all of its weapons for one of the following:

• 1 Fenrisian Great Axe, 1x Blizzard Shield and 1x Storm Bolter
• 1 Fenrisian Great Axe, 1x Blizzard Shield and 1x Heavy Flamer

24" Range, 2 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S4, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Rapid Fire 2 (When firing at a target at half range of 12", add 2x attacks)

Assault Cannons

12" Range, 6 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S6, AP0 and 1 Damage each.
Devastating Wounds (Rolls of 6 to Wounds cause Mortal Wounds)

Heavy Plasma Cannon - Standard shot

36" Range, D3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S7, AP-2 and 2 Damage each.
Blast (This weapon gets +1 Attack for every 5 models in the target unit, rounding down)

Heavy Plasma Cannon - Supercharged shot

36" Range, D3 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S8, AP-3 and 3 Damage each.
Blast (This weapon gets +1 Attack for every 5 models in the target unit, rounding down)
Hazardous (Roll a dice after using this weapon, if you roll a 1, suffer 3 Mortal Wounds)

Multi-Melta

18" Range, 2 Shots, Hitting on 3+, S9, AP-4 and D6 Damage each.
Melta 2 (When shooting at a target within half range of 9" add 2 to the Damage of this weapon)

Twin Lascannon

48" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S12, AP-3 and D6+1 Damage each.
Twin-Linked (Re-roll to Wound with this weapon)

Helfrost Cannon - focussed fire

36" Range, 1 Shot, Hitting on 3+, S9, AP-3 and 5 Damage each.

Helfrost Cannon - dispersedfire

12" Range, D6 Shots, Hitting on Auto, S6, AP-1 and 2 Damage each.

Missile Launcher - Krak option

Dreadnought Combat Weapon

5 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S12, AP-2 and 3 Damage each.

Fenrisian Great Axe - Strike option

5 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S10, AP-2 and D6+1 Damage each.

Fenrisian Great Axe - Sweep option

10 Attacks, Hitting on 3+, S6, AP-2 and 1 Damage each.

Abilities

Deadly Demise 1 (When it dies, roll a dice, on a 1, do 1 Mortal Wound on every unit within 6")

Wisdom of the Ancients (Aura)

While a friendly Adeptus Astartes Infantry unit is within 6" of this model, each time they make an attack, re-roll Hit rolls of 1 and Wound rolls of 1.

Wargear Abilities

Blizzard Shield

The Bearer has a 4+ Invul save.

Thoughts

I love these! Unlike my Wulfen Dreadnought, they can capture and contest objectives. I have two of them in my new Dreadnought army but the real advantage is going to be when they charge into combat LEADING units of infantry nearby to give them those re-rolls!

Then I will get value for points!

That makes 21 Space Wolves Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 60% Completed. The total Completed is 37.33% Complete! Can I review them all?!
