Good day everyone! Zak here from Cape Town, South Africa. Today I have another Warhammer 40,000 Battle Report for you!

In today's match, I played against @xenowolfza at Sword and Board. I played my 500pts Space Wolves Slow Grow army while Marnus played the Adeptus Custodes!

This match would be part of Marnus' additional games for February. I have already played my 2x max additional games so this was just to help Marnus reach his full amount.

Let's get into it!

Deployment and Mission

The mission is Deploy Servo Skulls. This is an interesting mission. The objectives in the no-man's land are Servo Skulls which we need to move closer to the enemy's depolyment zone.

When we take on control of a Servo-skull, we can move it up to 6" in any direction at the end of our turn.

The deployment was Crucible of Battle which is a triangle deployment. Thus the the black circles top left and bottom right are Servo-Skulls.

The home objectives were also useful to hold as each turn you could gain an additional CP on a 4+.

Above is my deployment. Quite simple. Long Fangs on the home objective, Blood Clas on either flank ready to go grab objectives on either side of the board.

Meanwhile a single squad of Custodes were deployed right at the back with the Shield Captain.

This Allarus Terminator is being used to proxy Trjann Valoris and he is being kept back in Reserves to Deep Strike him down (Teleportation).

This is the battlefield from Marnus' perspective.

We roll for first turn and I go first. Blood Claws sprint forward. Long Fangs fan out and snipe two shots at the custodes. I don't recall if that did much.

In the Custodes first turn, the Custodes moved forward and could not use the 12" guns on their blades to shoot just yet.

On my second turn the Blood Claws claimed the Servo Skull on the one side and then advanced towards the back.

The Long Fangs redeployed to get a good bead on the Custodes again.

The other Pack of Blood Calws get ready to shoot and charge the big Custodes unit.

Despite charging them and doing their best, they manage only to really kill two Custodians (With help from the Long Fangs)

Yes. Custodians are that tough.

The dice you see in that picture is how many wounds they just caused back to me for those few guys that are still on the field.

Meanwhile Trajann Valoris uses Deep Strike to pop down behind my Long Fangs. His shooting does not manage to kill anything. He also fails his charge. At the end of that turn, my other pack of Blood Claws use Guerrilla Tactics to leave the board and arrive next to Valoris!

I then Oath on Trajann and shoot Long Fangs and Blood Claws into him, preparing for a charge but the shooting was enough to kill him!

The same pack uses Guerrilla Tactics again to dissapear again and then pop in front of the remaining Custodes.

After another salvo from the Long Fangs, they shoot and Charge the Custodes.

It still took multiple rounds of combat to take down the Custodes. But with the Lieutenant giving the squad Lethal Hits and allowing me to do proper damage.

It took 4 turns and a lot of playing hard, but I managed to kill the Custodes and win the game!
