How HIVE Changes Lives .:. Recap of Hive Humpday Hangout Ep.30 + HHHLive Show Recording
It looks like 3Speak video upload feature will not come back online soon, so I have decided to publish the show recording on YT... I wrote and prepared these posts a few days after the show(s) aired, so description "can be old"... Enjoy...
As someone mentioned in the chat at the show's beginning, it is not that easy to come back after a 1-month break! I got rusty and it was a bit of a struggle to begin the show, but after a few minutes, we had some participants on the mic, and the show was just flowing... I know that some people have struggled to come up on the mic and talk (including myself many times), but I found it very important to listen to others, to get feedback, and to hear different opinions... And in the end, to share it with others who couldn't make it to the live session... That's the main reason for recording these shows!

We had a beautiful topic this week and discussing it made us realize how HIVE is an important part of our lives, and how much it brought to our lives! Even those who are skeptical, but still here, have to realize that HIVE changed their lives, changed their views, habits, routines... Sometimes we can't zoom out and by talking with others, we come to conclusion of how something is important to us... That's what happened in this show and it was a real pleasure to realize that!
After my preamble at the beginning of the show (and a couple of annoying notification sounds in the background 😃 - sorry about that) and the reasons for this week's topic, we didn't have to wait for a long time to hear the first participant in voice!
The first on the mic was @quekery, who shared his first steps on our blockchain, but also shared why HIVE played an important role in his life... He met some friends here, which he couldn't met if there were no HIVE... Those relationships went outside HIVE, and continued in real life! Isn't that a huge change?! Amazing! Also, meeting like-minded people can help a lot in shaping future ideas, and make you think about freedoms, choice, etc.
@foxkoit shared his view about the topic in the chat, where he wrote about how some small steps can change the perspective... Taking a couple of photos, sharing with others, can pay you a coffee... Also, doing what you enjoy, plugging into the community, gives you a feeling of adding value to the platform and others... Which is true! Sometimes a small thing from our lives, a short anecdote, can make a huge difference to someone else! That's why it's important to share!
It was great to see @jza again in the #HHHLive show and he came to the microphone to share his opinion about the importance of HIVE for him... He shared the story of how was using (and still uses) HIVE as a "public diary", more than writing for others... Similar to what we already mentioned, sharing personal stories can be very valuable for others...
Another practical reason for writing a "public diary" on HIVE is that you don't have to worry about your data... It is on the blockchain, you don't have to do database backups, or data backups on your hosting, or copy from one place to another...
Our #HHHLive show regular, @palomap3 was the next one to share her story... The best way to show how HIVE changed your life is to do a retrospective through the years... That's what @palomap3 shared with us... How her content, followers, and engagement grew as she was slowly changing their topics/niches through time... From simple Actifit posts, through diary posts, to sharing thoughts with others...
Getting deeper into HIVE makes you change your perspective... To become less selfish, to help others, and in that way, we help ourselves! That was a beautiful thought shared by Paloma!

@jim-crypto mentioned an interesting observation in the chat, about how important is HIVE in educating people about crypto, blockchains, etc. As all this is very new and fresh, there is no books, documentaries, or other "traditional" material to learn from... So, HIVE posts are a good source of educational material! @achim03 added on that, that HIVE gives an opportunity to build amazing stuff on top of it!
Close to the end of the show, @relf87 shared why HIVE is important for him! He came to learn about crypto, but then he found some other communities where he got engaged... For example, in lockdowns, HIVE travel posts were perfect for people who wanted to go out when it was impossible to do it! It was/is great to be able to visit so many different places all around the world, and all that, with your friend on HIVE!

It was a nice show, like I mentioned, I like to post what I want without being too bug down by rules from groups and formats, so instead I choose to just have fun. I am not going to roll over a vote.
I have to re-watch the show to remind myself about the topic and discussion, as this recording was from 3 weeks ago! 😃 I'm still not happy to publish the video on YT as it goes against my principles... 😃 I'm like you, want to be more in Web3, to be able to brag about being decentralized... 😄

Yeah, I know... I'm using Odysee, but I got complains that their embed video code doesn't show on hive.blog... ANd not just that, the whole BODY of the post isn't shown, which is a problem... That was the main reason why I went with YT this time... Usually, I do use Odysee

That's a very nice idea and suggestion, but not sure how it could fit in the Ecency Discord as that's the place where the show is going live... 😃 I met Jarvie and some other guys at HiveFest in Split and they are very enthusiastic about HIVE!
Btw. we had Good-Karma from Ecency in the show and I think we will have them again soon when the next big Ecency thing comes out... ;)

Wow, reading the recap feels good, it must have been an amazing moment. Hive truly change lives. I am happy to see how far I've come since I joined hive two years ago, the growth is tremendous, the people I've met are amazing. Keep up the good work.

Hive is great. I agree with the outlook of using the good things on Hive such as Actifit. It has gotten me to walk every single day and that is a great change to my life.
Actifit had the same effect on me! I began doing my daily walks regularly and posting reports helped me with consistency... When I got enough confidence to write about other things, I did it... So, it helped a lot in the transition!
A very interesting and encouraging talk, it is always good to hear personal opinions on how Hive brings value to each user and this makes the love for the blockchain grow every day.

I've experienced a lot of that frustration when I was actively using 3speak about 2 years ago, it's surprising to see that even in 2 years these issues still remains.
Yeah... I remember those times, but before the last (this one) outage, we had a long period of time without issues... I was hoping that the problems were behind us, but it looks like I was wrong... I hope it will come back as it would be a pity to not have a video platform on HIVE... 😌
Hoping we can have permanent solutions to these upload problems with 3speak. A lot of people are trying so hard not to actually use YouTube because we just don't want to.
I'm one of those! I didn't want to publish these recordings, but after 3 weeks, I had to... as they would become irrelevant after so much time... 😞

3Speak is changing their way of video storage, and that's why they will need more time to "repair" the platform... At least, that was the official announcement in their Discord...

Great show you have here. Hive changes my life in such a way I could never have imagined; every story I share is like my healing pill, and I still get rewarded for it.
The people I have met along the line are something I can never take for granted.
