Cooking while Thinking of the Past

It was not my intention to remember how life status was in the past. I was the youngest and counted among 11 of us, the children of my parents. Watching the number of fish I was cooking, the whole pieces stayed the same; Unlike long ago, we must divide the pieces of fish to make sure all of us could eat. It was hard back then because we were too many young children, considering my parents didn't have a decent job to earn money well.

The truth is, I'd never thought that my life would be like this; Not abundant but not shortage as well. Not to boast about but yeah, just in the middle, we need to keep working for both of us to continue having what we are hoping for in life. Obviously, aside from my parents, it was thanks to my big sisters and big brothers back then. Well, they sent me to school and helped me to finish my studies. Just unfortunate, I didn't use the course I finished because of many reasons. Even so, what they hoped for me was a better life still in my grasp because thanks to my going to school I learned many things; The things that I've been using to keep working hard.

I wouldn't lie, I was kind of sad while remembering the past. While thinking so, I hope that my brothers and sisters are doing the same; Again, no need to be abundant, a better life where food is not a problem to have. Although, I think of the past sometimes and couldn't help comparing the kind of life I'm having now. Imagine, I can eat a single piece of fish alone even if it costs $1.40 or Php 70. It's quite a feeling that even though it's just a simple way I'm happy with the life I'm having right now.

You know, it's not a pity either way about remembering the past. It's just proof that working hard is not a waste. Well, this kind of thinking is normal to me once in a while and then yeah, why not write to it where it feels like I'm talking to someone.

Your life story is very inspiring. In life, it is hardwork and faith, patience and kindness that counts.

I can relate with your story about family life especially when it comes to dividing of food in the table. I also remember back then, we need to divide one milo sachet pack into three servings , for me and my two lil brothers. But now, we can buy dozens of it in the grocery, one for each no need to divide at all. God is really good!💗

Yes, because it's about how we understood life. Why making it happen again when we are aware how hard it was. Thank you by the way
