REMEMBERING GOOD OLD DAYS: A Memorable Moment as a Student Teacher at Bongabong National High School (BNHS)

Hello hivers!

Today I'll revisit my unforgettable moments during my intern days. I'm gonna share those hardships and joyful experiences I've encountered.

Physically, Emotionally, Mentally, and Spiritually ready.

Before I was assigned in my lab school (BNHS) I have done medical checkups first to know if I am physically fit. Luckily, the results are all good. The first day came, I was so nervous at that time. I don't know what to do and I overthink how my day would end. Of course the feeling of excitement is still present, I would love to meet my lovely students. Trying to look and act good because I believe the first impression lasts.

Ladies and gentlemen, if I could turn back the time where I was an intern, I will. That feeling when you are not satisfied with your performance knowing you did your best is terrible. However, that moment shaped and motivated me to do better. It improves my mindset and strengthens my capabilities to control my emotions.

Indeed the best among the rest was knowing you have learned something.

I may not be able to apply everything I have learned theoretically however I managed to become flexible and fullfil the needs of the learners. It's not easy to become a teacher nor it is hard. Everything is up to you, when you enjoy what you are doing, you're capable of making things lighter.

As a student teacher it is very essential to connect with your students. Build rapport to every classroom you are assigned. Treat them fairly but don't allow yourself to be overpowered by them.

This photos were taken during their Foundation Day and Intramurals. The students have so much fun it is visible in their faces. This kind of events serves a way for the other students to excel in different forte. The Grade 12 won the Mass Dance competition. I am still proud of my Grade 10 students because they did their best and enjoyed the whole duration.

Be righteous. Be more cautious on choosing right or wrong because as they say you are the role model. They look up to you, how you act and react matters.

I remembered one student asked about what was the best course to take for college. I answered her a question " What do you want to become someday?" She paused for a minute and said "I don't know Ma'am." In that moment I explained to her how important it is to choose a course that that she love and passioned about. I told her to take her time to decide since she was still in Grade 10.

I missed the laughter, jokes and the Ma'am, wala mi papel moments (Ma'am, we don't have paper). The connection became bolder and stronger as we come to an end. During my Final demo, I was so grateful because they are cooperative. They executed the prepared activities very well that led me to a higher grade than expected.

Of course, I strive and work hard for everything, behind those smiles was the confusion, fear, and doubt. I cried and gave my all effort in making lesson plans, preparing instructional materials and practicing how to deliver the lesson.

Looking back at those experiences made me realize how far I've become. Every struggle during my internship journey is now part of the process of becoming one.

Indeed every moment was worth it.
