I haven't been active here for almost a year. I've had a lot to do with my family and my job, I've also travelled a lot and started a few projects of my own. Now I'm back home, where the Oktoberfest in Munich is just coming to an end. I saw that today is #BierSaturday, which goes perfectly with the Oktoberfest Paulaner #beer.

Seit fast einem Jahr bin ich hier nicht mehr aktiv. Hatte viel zu tun mit der Familie, im Beruf, bin auch viel gereist und habe einige eigene Projekte gestartet. Jetzt bin ich wieder Daheim, wo gerade das Oktoberfest in München zu Ende geht. Habe gesehen, dass es heute den #BeerSaturday gibt, das passt perfekt zum Oktoberfest Paulaner #Bier.

Paulaner Oktoberfest beer comes from the Paulaner brewery based in Munich. It belongs to the Schörghuber Corporate Group, which took it over in 2002. The monks of the Paulaner order have been brewing their beer for their own consumption since 24 February 1634 at the latest, as it is historically recorded that the Munich brewers unsuccessfully sued against the sale of the Paulaner monks' beer.
Das Paulaner Oktoberfestbier stammt von der Paulaner Brauerei mit Sitz in München. Sie gehört zur Schörghuber Unternehmensgruppe, die sie 2002 übernommen hat. Spätestens seit dem 24 Februar 1634 brauten die Mönche des Paulaner-Ordens ihr Bier für den Eigenbedarf, denn es ist historisch überliefert, dass die Münchner Bierbrauer erfolglos gegen den Verkauf des Bieres der Paulaner-Mönche klagten.
It was raining today and I didn't really want to drive through the rain to the Oktoberfest and get wet on the grounds. So I opted for the alternative, an Oktoberfest at home. It wasn't a Mass, but a 0.5 litre bottle with 6% alcohol.
Heute hat es geregnet und ich wollte nicht unbedingt durch den Regen zum Oktoberfest fahren und dort auf dem Gelände nass werden. Also habe ich mich für die Alternative entschieden, ein Oktoberfest für zu Hause. Es war keine Mass, sondern eine 0,5 L Flasche mit 6% Alkohol.
It is made from water, barley malt and hops. The hop varieties used are Herkules and Hallertau Tradition. The malts used are Pilsner malt (pale barley malt) and Munich malt (dark barley malt). The original gravity is 13.7 %.
Es wird aus Wasser, Gerstenmalz und Hopfen hergestellt. Die verwendeten Hopfensorten sind Herkules und Hallertauer Tradition. Die Malzsorten sind Pilsner Malz (helles Gerstenmalz) und Münchner Malz (dunkles Gerstenmalz). Die Stammwürze beträgt 13,7 %.
I enjoyed it with relatives on the terrace. We were all dressed in traditional costume and celebrated Oktoberfest at home today. The atmosphere was relaxed and we had a very good chat.
Ich habe es mit Verwandten auf der Terrasse genossen. Wir waren alle schon in Tracht gekleidet und haben heute zu Hause Oktoberfest gefeiert. Die Stimmung war locker und wir hatten einen sehr guten Austausch.
Finally, a word about the beer. It's a good beer, even if it's not one of my three favourite beers. It's brewed locally, which is important to me, and it's traditional, which is in line with my values.
Zum Schluss noch ein Wort zum Bier. Es ist ein gutes Bier, auch wenn es nicht zu meinen drei Lieblingsbieren gehört. Es ist lokal gebraut, was mir wichtig ist, und es ist traditionell, was meinen Werten entspricht.

I like Paulaner a lot. It is one of the best from the big players, and they produce on a local level, even if Munich is quite an expensive city for production.
