Dejarse fluir es un proceso que se llega a amar a base de tropiezos y pequeñas victorias. Desde que inició el año, me he propuesto hacer las cosas con un poco más de valentía; eso incluye soltar ciertas estructuras rígidas, romper el guion que nos autoimponemos y, sencillamente, atreverme a ser.

Letting yourself flow is a process that you learn to love through stumbles and small victories. Since the beginning of the year, I have resolved to do things with a little more courage; that includes letting go of certain rigid structures, breaking the script we impose on ourselves, and simply daring to be.

Aunque no todo el tiempo tomo decisiones acertadas, creo que la que parecía menos ideal se convirtió en un acierto. Salir a disfrutar la ciudad en San Valentín fue una "locurita", pero también una oportunidad para conectar con el exterior.

Although I don't always make the right decisions, I think the one that seemed least ideal turned out to be a good one. Going out to enjoy the city on Valentine's Day was a bit crazy, but it was also an opportunity to connect with the outside world.

Mi plan original era otro: sentarme en una cafetería y terminar un dibujo pendiente; pero la vida te sorprende y te ofrece un plan mejor, como ir a dibujar a la plaza. Pero, ¿qué dibujar? Decidí seguir entrenando mi ojo en la perspectiva, seleccionando colores y replicándolos en mi paleta.

My original plan was different: to sit in a café and finish a drawing I had left unfinished; but life surprises you and offers you a better plan, like going to draw in the square. But what to draw? I decided to continue training my eye in perspective, selecting colors and replicating them on my palette.

Hace un par de años le comenté a @bertrayo, tras recibir una linda postal que me obsequió, que mi meta era llegar a pintar así. Esa postal ha sido como una estrella polar que encuentro entre mi libreta, recordándome mi propósito. Siento que no he avanzado mucho, pero definitivamente hoy estoy más cerca, pues esto no se trata de una carrera de velocidad, sino de resistencia creativa.

A couple of years ago, after receiving a beautiful postcard from @bertrayo, I told him that my goal was to be able to paint like that. That postcard has been like a guiding star that I find in my notebook, reminding me of my purpose. I feel like I haven't made much progress, but I'm definitely closer today, because this isn't a sprint, but a creative marathon.

Quise dibujar a ojo lo que veía, sin trazos complejos ni mayor planimetría. Es solo una pequeña sección de un lugar icónico, plasmada en un lienzo pequeñito, pero con la osadía de enfrentar a este "coloso" de mi ciudad(una de las torres de parque central).

I wanted to draw what I saw by eye, without complex lines or detailed measurements. It is just a small section of an iconic place, captured on a tiny canvas, but with the audacity to take on this “colossus” of my city (one of the towers in Central Park).

El tiempo vuela cuando te diviertes. Mi obra no es perfecta, pero el proceso sí lo fue. Me encantaría contar con orientación profesional para mejorar, pero mientras llega, seguiré confiando en mi instinto y en el placer de ver los colores mezclarse. En el camino iremos perfeccionando.

Time flies when you're having fun. My work isn't perfect, but the process was. I would love to have professional guidance to improve, but until then, I'll continue to trust my instincts and enjoy watching the colors blend together. We'll perfect it along the way.
