Visitando a las vaquitas/ Visiting the cows [ESP-ENG]

Hola chicos! Pasé mucho tiempo sin escribir, y desde esta semana comencé de nuevo a escribir post cortos. Hoy les traigo un relato más largo para celebrar el día de las madres. Por cierto espero que ustedes hayan podido disfrutar el día con las madres que tengan en su vida.

Hi guys! It's been a long time without writing, and since this week I started writing short posts again. Today I bring you a longer story to celebrate Mother's Day. By the way I hope you were able to enjoy the day with the mothers in your life.

El día de hoy comenzó como cualquier otro, despertar, desayunar y trabajar en alguna cosa en la casa. Cuando se estaba acercando el mediodía, comencé a ver a mi papá y a mi mamá arreglados. Mi hija por su parte ya estaba arreglada también y comenzó a decir que le hiciera una lonchera porque ella iba a salir. En ese momento pregunté si iriamos a salir y tuve que salir corriendo a arreglarme. El plan consistia en una salida en familia, mis padres, mi hija y yo. Salimos aparentemente sin saber mucho la ruta, solo sabiamos que iriamos a visitar familia y amigos.

Today started out like any other day, wake up, eat breakfast and work on something around the house. As it was getting close to noon, I started to see my mom and dad all dressed up. My daughter was already dressed up too and started to tell me to make her a lunch box because she was going out. At that point I asked if we were going out and I had to run out and get ready. The plan was a family outing, my parents, my daughter and me. We went out apparently not knowing much about the route, we just knew we were going to visit family and friends.

La primera parada fue en el terreno de mis papás, fuimos a saludar a las vacas que estaban pastoreando. Ellas estaban en un potrero cercano a unas matas de mango y nos pusimos a alcanzarle los mangos, a ellas les fascinan los mangos. Nos entretuvimos un tiempo en esa actividad. Lo que no sabiamos era que papi no había pasado por ahí aleatoriamente, el tenía un propósito. Después de haber atraído al rebaño con los mangos le presentó a mami su regalo del día de las madres, una novilla.

The first stop was at my parents' land, we went to greet the cows that were grazing. They were in a pasture near some mango trees and we started to reach for the mangoes, they love mangoes. We entertained ourselves for a while in this activity. What we didn't know was that daddy didn't just stop by randomly, he had a purpose. After luring the herd with the mangoes he presented mommy with her Mother's Day gift, a heifer.

Mi mamá se quedó muy emocionada, pidió foto, video y obviamente que le dijeramos el número que la identifica para saber reconocerla. Hasta la bautizó, le puso "Regalito". Intentamos atraerla para sacarle fotos, pero como es un animal joven, tenía miedo de nosotros. Al final nos tocó usar el zoom para poder retratarla.

My mom was very excited, she asked for a photo, video and obviously that we tell her the number that identifies her so she could recognize her. She even named her "Regalito". We tried to lure her to take pictures, but as she is a young animal, she was afraid of us. In the end we had to use the zoom lens to take her picture.

Después de esto aprovechamos que la mayoría del rebaño estaba cerca para tomarnos fotos y hacer unos videos. Revisando las fotos para el post me dí cuenta que no aparezco en ninguna foto, ese es mi mal, me gusta tomar fotos y siempre se me olvida tomar alguna donde yo salga.

After this we took advantage of the fact that most of the herd was close by to take pictures and make some videos. Reviewing the photos for the post I realized that I don't appear in any of them, that's my problem, I like to take pictures and I always forget to take one where I'm in it.

Amanda, mi hija, se sintió a gusto entre el rebaño y les pasaba mangos a las vacas. En un momento aprovechó que había un grupito de vacas reunidas y me pidió: mami, una foto con las vaquitas! Me impresiona que hace unos meses les tenía mucho miedo a estos animales y ahora tengo que cuidarla mas bien de que no se confíe mucho de ellas.

Amanda, my daughter, felt at ease among the herd and passed mangoes to the cows. At one point she took advantage of a group of cows and asked me: Mommy, a picture with the cows! It strikes me that a few months ago she was very afraid of these animals and now I have to take care of her so that she doesn't trust them too much.

La única cosa que Amanda intentó realizar y no pudo fue darle un mango a una vaca en la boca. Se lo daba y cuando la vaca lo iba a agarrar salía corriendo. En una oportunidad hasta le pasaron la lengua y ello dijo que la había rasguñado, la lengua de las vacas es bastante áspera. Imagino que en breve tendrá el coraje de darselos con confianza.

The only thing Amanda tried and failed to do was to give a mango in a cow's mouth. She would give it to it and when the cow would grab it, it would run away. Once she even got her tongue and it said she had scratched it, cows' tongues are quite rough. I imagine that soon he will have the courage to give it to her with confidence.

Fue una experiencia diferente, salimos de la rutina y a la vez le dimos una vueltica a las vacas.

It was a different experience, we got out of the routine and at the same time we gave the cows a ride.
