I will attempt not to be too technical with this post because I fully know that can be quite boring. But it turns out the developers were right about one thing: our documentation sucks a little bit.

Picture this. There you are, you bought yourself a brand new toy. It's one of those geeky toys for geeky peeps, but you're excited, your brain is tingling. You open the box, you see the potential, you can visualize what you could possibly make a reality. Then you pick up the manual and give it a good peruse...

Yes, yes... I see... OOOOH okay... This is how you...
Time to get to work...

There you are, hours upon hours building something. You can see the finish line, it's right there, but there are some unusual obstacles in the way.

Of course...

We have some people here, some unsung heroes stepping up and helping out yours truly, but, and this is the but, why is it that we know of these issues and yet the documentation is not up to date?

On a serious note

I'm going to make it a point to ask about this to the real developers of this chain. I'm more than willing to help update this documentation, and it might even be a good idea to strike while the iron is hot, as they say. I'm seeing the broken things right now.

At any rate, it doesn't matter much. It's not stopping me. It's only slowing me down a bit, and that's fine because it's giving me a lot of time to think about what I'm doing.

I'm also quite motivated because people seem to be excited about this little app, and there's nothing greater than feeling appreciated for the love one pours onto this place. That is true wealth, I would say.

Well, 10 pm is finally here, and although I could probably continue, I shouldn't. Attempting to make things while the brain is foggy is a recipe for "repeat it from scratch" on a wooden skewer. Doesn't sound appetizing to me, I have to say.

Imagina esto. Ahí estás, te compraste un juguete nuevo. Es uno de esos juguetes geek para gente geek, pero estás emocionado, tu cerebro está hormigueando. Abres la caja, ves el potencial, puedes visualizar lo que podrías hacer realidad. Luego agarras el manual y le das una buena hojeada...

Sí, sí... Ya veo... OOOOH ok... Así es como se...

Hora de trabajar...

Ahí estás, horas y horas construyendo algo. Puedes ver la meta, está justo ahí, pero hay unos obstáculos inusuales en el camino.

Bueno, esta pieza no encaja aquí...

Esta ni siquiera es la parte correcta...

¿Espera, estas piezas son de una versión descontinuada de este aparato?

Tenemos algunas personas aquí, unos héroes anónimos que han estado ayudando a este servidor, pero, y este es el pero, ¿por qué si sabemos de estos problemas la documentación no está actualizada?

Voy a proponer esto a los desarrolladores reales de esta cadena. Estoy más que dispuesto a ayudar a actualizar esta documentación, y podría ser buena idea hacerlo ahora que tengo todo fresco, como dicen. Estoy viendo las cosas rotas justo ahora.

De todas formas, no importa mucho. No me está deteniendo, solo me está ralentizando un poco, y está bien porque me da tiempo para pensar en lo que estoy haciendo.

Además, estoy bastante motivado porque la gente parece emocionada con esta pequeña app, y no hay nada más grande que sentirse apreciado por el amor que uno le pone a este lugar. Esa es la verdadera riqueza, diría yo.

Bueno, ya son las 10 pm, y aunque probablemente podría seguir, no debería. Intentar hacer cosas con la mente nublada es receta para “hazlo de nuevo desde cero” en un pincho de madera. No suena muy apetitoso, la verdad.
