The Post Curation Tool (PCT) - A great tool for manual curation! (part 7)
The Post Curation Tool (PCT)
A couple of months ago I had the idea to create a tool that could solve my problem of finding the right posts to manually curate with the current feeds of the front-ends.
After a discussion with @ecoinstant, he and @thecrazygm started developing the PCT. They started with a minimal viable product, but the tool is getting more options every time.
I'm not in the development team, but I do feel a bit responsible for promoting this great tool since I think it would be a very useful tool for lot of you Hivers. Especially when you do manual curation like me.
I've been posting update posts of this tool for a while and will be doing this as long as the development team keeps the updates coming.
Please let me know if you have used it already and what you think about it in the comments.
And if you haven't already; Go check it out!

(or read on for the latest updates and info!)
Updates!
The team has been working on some nice updates of the PCT which makes it even more versatile.
@thecrazygm already created some two posts (1,2) about the updates, but I think they deserve some more attention.
That's why I'm sharing my opinions from my point of view as a user of the tool.
When you perform a search you now have more info in the search results. Below you see a result of my search for posts with the tag photography in a community with the word photo in it (so Photography, Photography lovers etc.)
If you have used the PCT before you might notice there is a lot more information below the search results. For instance it shows the current rewards in HBD. This way you can easily decide whether you think a post deserves some more rewards. Or maybe find those posts that are under rewarded according to you.
Next to the rewards is the word count. That's not only a value that is shown, that is also a value you can filter on.
This was one of my personal feature requests that has been implemented. When searching for cool photography posts I often had low effort blogs in my results. When I opened the link to those blogs I found out that some post were only one picture with a couple of words.
With the word count filter I now can set a minimum number of words the blogs should have. By setting this to 250, most of the low effort posts are filtered out. A great improvement! Well done, team !
For those who didn't know it yet; you can save your favorite searches as a bookmark.
Here is the link I used for the example above:
https://thecrazygm.com/hivetools/pct?author=&tag_filter=photography&body_len_min=&body_len_max=&word_min=250&word_max=&read_min=&read_max=&title_filter=&community_filter=photo&app_filter=&sort_order=desc
Mobile
Apart from using it on my laptop, I'm also using it on my mobile. What I'm using it for is to check on the posts of my Friendlymoose Photo Contest. Contestants put the tag #FPC on the posts which makes them easy to find with the PCT tool!
After performing the search I can scroll through all the entries. When you click on an entry you get a question in which front-end you would like to open it.
Requests
With the filter on minimum number of words implemented, there is another one from the list.
There are still a few requests on the list.
If there is any feature you would like to see, just let me know in the comments and I'll add it to the list as this is not my tool! It's a tool for all Hivers!

Donations
The development team (@teammithril) works non profit. Their work isn't paid by the DHF. They have build a lot of tools for the community, just check their website: https://thecrazygm.com/hivetools/
If you appreciate what they do, please consider donating something. You can easily do this with one of their own tools; The TipJar (which you could also use yourself by the way!).

If you choose to send a tip to this blog, I'll forward it to the team.
A shoutout to @keithtaylor, @v-36, @cryptoreforma and @deepresearch for their donations that came in after I published my last post.
Mentions
I'm mentioning the people that have donated something to this project in the past to keep them informed about the latest updates of the tool.

Pretty handy tool. As a developer I have yet to practice on Hive chain. I have mostly worked on arbitrum for now. I may have to try some of such tools. Thanks for pointing out the curator tool.
Thank you for the kind words and thank you for featuring one of my toys. 😅
You're welcome!
Hope to keep you motivated to keep updating your 'toy' 👊
First at all!
love to have a few more dropdowns with community name or so.
More results would be as well cool and maybe a list of all (like all beersaturday post from detlev)
Thanks for tour response!
A dropdown with all communities will be huge. Was that whatnyoynhad in mind?
Personally I like the fact that you can filter on a word in the community. So beer would give your community, but also beers beerlovers etc.
Do you mean more than 7 days? The 7 days is because it is a curation tool.
But maybe it can be expanded.
I think it would be useful for you to catch all blogs with the #beersaturday tag.
The TAO is for older posts!
This tool looks a lot like hive hound.
https://hive-hound.the-hive-mobile.app/
It does. I only get no results when searching on tags.
Haven't tested the rest though.
