Is this worth money? #8: Hive-Memories

Today we have another free tool for you! This one is... well, it is what it is, and that is a Minimum Viable Product, or MVP. I noticed @quark.top talking about this, and among developers we know this term and use it, we love it. Its important to identify the Minimum Viable Product (usually ugly), so you can get it to a user/customer and test, before investing too much time into the scope creep.

I'll hold my comments for the "javascript above all" type people for another post; this is a really solid attempt! And we have our very own @spiritsurge to thank for this. Seriously, not like he isn't busy, but he took the time to hack this baby together, if it was a hackathon I would pick him as a winner.

Oh yeah, here it is - ugly as sin and as "minimum viable" as a product gets! But honestly, as a Project Manager, I love this. All the "pretty" stuff can be easily fixed, one by one. Do you want to render the markdown? Do you want to increase image size or force them all to center? This is "easy". The hard part is building an app!

Does this serve any purpose?

Well, consider the case of @thekittygirl - who asked us to search the body of her own posts way back in January:

I, personally and immediately, connected with this request - as someone who has been "saying stuff by keyboard" into the blockchain for a LONG time. I often spend valuable minutes trying and failing to find my own posts, even when I think I know more or less the title of the post and some key phrases.

It should be "easy", but it isn't - currently. We first build the backlinker to help with this, and make it a lot faster to get the posts, but we are not storing body text.

But with HIVE-Memories - Kitty found her peaches! A pdf reader has built in search functions, or you can just use your browser.

@thekittygirl - Your request is delivered! Case closed :)

But but but....

Yeah. I didn't even manage to get through mine yet, to see that type of failure, I got once to 700 something and once over 1000 before....

So @derangedvisions, hang on a little longer. I am pretty sure I mentioned this once or more times already, but he put up 500 archon for the radar - that's 5 times the "my radar" level! I think this is number two, let's see how number three looks after a bit more work. There are further efficiencies to achieve for sure.

Do you need a tool? Or Quality of Life or Feature Enhancement to one that already exists? Just follow directions:
