[TBT] Memories of my childhood (ESP/ENG)

Hello, my dear friends of #TBT Thursdays, today I'm back here with a couple of photographs that I'd honestly never seen before, so I was thrilled to find them because they represent my childhood and pre-adolescence, respectively. I found them this Saturday while the whole family was gathered to celebrate one of my uncles' birthday. My cousins had taken out a photo album to choose some to use for the decoration, and I started to look through them because I've always loved flipping through family albums, and well, that's precisely where I found these little gems.

I remember this day perfectly, although I had never seen this photo before, or at least I don't, it was the day I graduated from sixth grade, it represents the entry into a new stage in which I finished primary school and started secondary school. In my country (Venezuela) there is a specific color for the student uniform depending on the stage they are in, for example in primary school they wear a white shirt, in secondary school a blue shirt, and in the diversified, also called high school, they wear a beige shirt, so I was happy to move on to this new stage, however, now that I look at the photo, I can't understand how I let my mom put that bow on my hair, 🤣 haha, it was huge, but I guess it was okay for 1996. There, next to me you can see my cousin, and in part I was a little sad because until now we had studied together in the same classroom, but from that moment on she would go to one school and I would go to a different one.

In this second photo you can see me exactly there, where I point with the arrow, my mom tells me that I was two years old and that we were at a family party, I don't remember anything from that day, but even if you don't believe it, I have memories from when I was two years old, but they are very vague and ethereal, specifically they are memories of my birthday party, but although I can't remember the day of this photo, I surely had a great time because fortunately I had a very beautiful and happy childhood, thank God.

Thank you for allowing me to share these photos with all of you, they filled me with joy as soon as I saw them. See you another time 🤗.

The way uniform colors marked each stage really stood out, especially that jump from white to blue for secondary school. It captures that mix of pride and a little ache as you and your cousin took different paths. And that giant bow made me smile, the 90s loved a bold accessory. Which uniform did you like the most?
I didn't really like the uniforms, haha, but if there was one I liked more than others, it was the beige one because it represented the final stage and maturity.
It's true, these types of accessories were common in the '90s and '90s. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. 🤗
Totally get that. The beige uniform does have that final chapter vibe, like you were leveling up to the next stage. Those big bows and bold accessories were such a 90s classic and they kind of made any uniform feel a bit more you. Thanks for sharing the story behind it.
I guess we all agree we look more adorable when we were young, beautiful picture and nice memories @mairene1
Yes, we look more adorable in those times 😄. Thanks a lot for comment 🤗
I don't know how you manage to get so many old photos, haha, but yes, in our days without digital phones, there were still a lot of people taking pictures, and they're scattered around. It's good to collect them, and seeing them brings back so many pleasant moments. Thanks for sharing this on #TBT Thursdays. You stood out a lot in high school with that white ribbon or hat on your head! ✌️

No, haha, luckily I didn't use it in high school, only at the sixth-seventh grade graduation ceremony, just like you see in the photo, haha.
I get those kinds of photos at home, but also at my aunts' houses, taking pictures with my phone in their albums, haha. It's the only way to get a copy. Although I remember that back then, you could take the photo negatives to a photo studio, and they would give you an exact copy of the photo.
Excelentes recuerdos.
The bow on your head really suits you, Maybe that's a trending fashion back then. It was really fun to look back with our old photos and reminisce every moment that had happened that day. ❤️
