In recent years we have seen many trends that have later become part of our culture, and especially #tbt is something that motivates me every week. Something as simple as taking some time to breathe and remember the good times we have had is a habit that we should not lose.

For this occasion I would like to bring back a day that carries a special emotion for me. It happened a year ago, just at this time of the year and coincidentally around the days of August. It was almost by chance the fact that I found myself getting involved in the activities of the summer camp of the Federation of University Students of my city. I had several friends who had joined and letting me go was a decision that I have not regretted. Although I did not want to camp with the rest, participating with them in the actions they were taking was a luxury.

Visiting the San Pedro de La Roca Castle, better known as El Morro, is not something that can be done every day. It is quite far from the city center and there is not much transport that normally goes to that destination. This castle dates back to the colonial period of Cuba, when Spain needed fortifications to protect itself from attacks by corsairs and pirates. Walking along these paths allows you to connect with all the historical legacy that has been present since that time.

Despite having received maintenance and repairs, in addition to having several areas specialized in preserving the museology and the history of the place, the Nose remains almost intact regardless of the passage of time. We can observe the immense white rocks with which it was built, and there are still many of the cannons that were protagonists in military actions.

My friends and I felt like tourists, and we didn't waste a second. In addition to walking along the almost five hundred steps that this fortification has, we took photos in almost every place we found. The place is wonderful and so is the view that overlooks the entire bay of Santiago de Cuba.

Being in El Morro not only allows you to be invaded by the historical soul of this city, you also have time to create experiences and stronger connections with your friends and take many, many memories. I repeat, we did not waste time and the hundreds of photos that I still keep in my gallery are witnesses of it.

Of all the summer camp, this day is the one I keep with the most lucidity and joy. I really didn't want to leave there, so it fills me with satisfaction to share this throwback with you. I am not sure if I will be able to share more memories here often, but for now I hope this content will be to your liking. Until next time!

En los últimos años hemos visto muchas tendencias que luego se han convertido parte de nuestra cultura, y en especial el #tbt es algo que me motiva cada semana. Algo tan sencillo como tomarse un tiempo ñara respirar y recordar los buenos momentos que hemos pasado es un hábito que no deberíamos perder.

Para esta ocasión quisiera traer de vuelta un día que para mí carga una emotividad especial. Sucedió hace un año, justo en esta época del año y coincidentemente alrededor de los días de agosto. Fue casi de casualidad el hecho de que me encontrara involucrándome en las actividades del campamento de verano de la Federación de Estudiantes Universitarios de mi ciudad. Tenía varios amigos que se habían sumado y dejarme llevar fue una decisión de la que no me he arrepentido. Si bien no quise acampar con el resto, participar con ellos en las acciones que fueron tomando fue un lujo.

Visitar el Castillo San Pedro de La Roca, más conocido como El Morro, no es algo que se pueda hacer todos los días. Queda bastante alejado del centro de la ciudad y no hay mucho transporte que normalmente vaya hacia ese destino. Este castillo data de la etapa colonial de Cuba, en la que España necesitaba fortificaciones para protegerse de ataques de corsarios y piratas. Caminar por estos senderos permite conectar con todo el legado histórico que está presente desde aquella época.

A pesar de haber recibido mantenimiento y reparación, además de tener varias áreas especializadas en conservar la museología y la historia del lugar, El Morro se mantiene casi intacto independientemente del paso del tiempo. Podemos observar las rocas blancas, inmensas, con las que fue construido, y todavía quedan muchos de los cañones que fueron protagonistas en acciones militares.

Mis amigos y yo nos sentíamos como turistas, y no desaprovachamos segundo alguno. Además de caminar por los casi quinientos escalones que tiene esta fortificación, nos tomamos fotos en casi todos los lugares que encontramos. El sitio es maravilloso y así lo es la vista que da hacia toda la bahía de Santiago de Cuba.

Estando en el Morro no solo te dejas invadir por el alma histórica de esta ciudad, también tienes tiempo para crear experiencias y conexiones más fuertes con tus amistades y tomar muchos, muchísimos recuerdos. Repito, nosotros no perdimos el tiempo y los cientos de fotos que aún guardo en mi galería son testigos de ello.

De todo el campamento de verano, este día es el que guardo con mayor lucidez y alegría. Realmente no quería irme de allí, por tanto me llena de satisfacción compartir con ustedes este throwback. No estoy seguro si podré estar a menudo compartiendo más memorias por acá, pero por ahora espero que este contenido sea de su agrado. ¡Hasta la próxima!
