Hunting for the Perfect Shot!

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

I have been hunting a lot more lately in theHunter: Call of the Wild, and that too without the HUD elements. It is a bit more challenging but very refreshing. Without the clutter of HUD elements like clues, hints and icons, you appreciate the beauty of this game even more. I have been sharing some shots lately from this game. Today, I am back with another such post. This time I am in one of my favourite reserves, Yukon Valley Nature Reserve, famous for its beautiful Crimson plains and dynamic weather system.

This one is located in the Yukon River Basin. The southern part of the map is filled with this enormous river that goes through the reserve. I took the next shot in the early morning when clouds were able to overcome the sun.

There are a lot of big animals to hunt here. My favourites are the Bisons and Moose. While bison are relatively slow, easy to hunt. Moose can be a bit tricky, especially the males, as they have a good sense of smell and hearing. They can also run much quicker than bison.

That's why hunting down a big male Moose feels so good.

Those clouds that we saw in the morning were coming down as snowfall in the valley. Ignore the hands, I was trying to crouch down to take the shot. Forgot about them. But these

One of the unique things about this reserve is that with snowfall, the surroundings become white as if the snow had settled on the ground or the leaves. This drastically changes how the same place looked just a minute ago. The visual difference is so much that it feels like you are playing in the snowy map of Medved.

Like every reserve in the game, there are a lot of water bodies which serve as hotspots for animal activities. Many come to these to quench their thirst. And I come here to hunt those poor animals.

The bison population seems to be the largest in this reserve. Anywhere I go, I tend to find them somewhere. Mostly in the central part of the reserve.

Hunting them is probably the easiest in the game. They are not running for too long, and have enormous lungs, so you can take shots without fear of missing out.

My favourite part of the reserve is undoubtedly the Crimson Plains. This is the biggest USP for this reserve, at least for me.

These crimson leaves spreading across the plains with few trees make it such a beautiful place. Just like the plains in Savannah, you can spot your target from a long distance, and this makes hunting much more fun.

A poor Bison wanted to kill me for disturbing its peace. But that turned out to be its last day. Sometimes they get aggressive and try to attack you. A couple of good hits on a vital organ will bring them down fairly quickly.

If more than one angry bison surrounds me, I just take out the smaller one with a headshot. This makes me lose some rewards for destroying the trophy organ, which is their skull. But surviving is a priority over getting a bit more rewards...right? xd

Sheru and I spent a peaceful evening admiring the beauty of this place. Thinking about how far video games have come, especially visually. I appreciate that I can enjoy these vast virtual worlds created by others based on the real landscape. Now, I am thinking how beautiful the Yukon Valley in Alaska would be.

Let me know which part of the reserve intrigues you the most. I love the Crimson Plains for its breathtaking views and relatively easy hunting opportunities.

Thanks for reading.

Until next shot...

Wow, I'm totally amazed by your screenshots. I don't think I've ever seen so much realism in a video game. Your first screenshot, where you were on a dock, is almost real.

I know, right? Imagine playing games like this in VR. That would be something.

I really enjoyed reading your post. Especially the Crimson Plains made me want to explore the Yukon Valley too. The part about the snowfall changing the view was amazing. 👍

Your explanation about the difference between hunting bison and moose was incredible. Hunting moose is somewhat rewarding, but very difficult to hunt, as they tend to run fast when they get scared. Nice screenshots.

The game looks very realistic, could you also hunt aquatic animals or are there only terrestrial?

Sadly, no aquatic animals. Only animals on the ground and birds, too. However, hunting those birds in the sky is tough, so you go to places where they feed and mate. Wait for them to come down and then hunt them.

I love the vibe this picture gives off.

This place is incredible. It's fantastic to come here and cast your line into the water to see what bites.

Yeah, it looks so real. Not like a shot from a video game.
