Today I want to share with you a StreetArt find from RORY GALLAGHER 🎸😎
I discovered yesterday this work while I was discovering County #Donegal in #ireland 😊 🇮🇪

I captured this #mural / #artwork yesterday on 10 September 2023 and found also, in the town’s center, a statue from him. Both tributes…

THE TOWN OF BALLYSHANNON IN IRELAND 🇮🇪 IS WHERE RORY GALLAGHER WAS BORN IN MARCH 1948.

It states;

William Rory Gallagher 2 March 1948 – 14 June 1995) was an Irish guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is known for his virtuosic style of guitar playing, and is often referred to as "the greatest guitarist you've never heard of".
A number other guitarists, including Alex Lifeson of Rush, Brian May of Queen, and Eric Clapton, have cited Gallagher as an influence.

Close by capture… as you can see the blacks are not black here as the light was wrong…

So I decided to go further away until the black and white mural could be captured better.

Signature of the artist and the tribute to Rory and mention of the photographer the artist used a photo from for his work.

A little bit later coming from our walk back… even more cars gathered… 🚗🚗 one still does see this mural / StreetArt popping out.

I love #blackandwhite works like this as they pop… even on cloudy days in Ireland 🇮🇪

When we walked through the center of this town we found a #statue from #rorygallagher

It is located on Main Street in Ballyshannon 🎸🎸🎸

Very cool 😎 don’t you think.

Yep… we truly skipped summer and only had a few days nice weather. Luckily in a few weeks I go to better weather for our road trip. It’s 24 degrees Celsius there now during the day. Lovely weather.
I had the heating on twice today… bbrrrr still cold hahaha !LOL

Good it isn’t as heavy as yesterday. If you get the chance maybe go for walks… in between the showers.

Hahaha, I remember you mentioned your road trip in the States, that will be cool escaping the cold weather in Europe for a bit.

I can imagine the heater, 7 degrees is cold, could it drop to minus in the coming weeks?
I would rather do a walk tomorrow, am trying to protect myself not to falling sick, with the wind being chilly kind of.

Now it really is an escape of the bad weather.
But everywhere in the world it seems strange lately… the weather I mean. Mother Nature is upset…
It could indeed go below 0 in the winter. Will have to find out. Every country I lived in the last 2 years has different climates.

I was looking at weather headlines the other day and the typhoons and hurricanes have so many human names I began to wonder why are they being named after human names. Nature is no doubt upset, we have been toying with it for too long...

It is amazing that you have had to adapt to the new climates.

It has been raining heavily here the streets are flooded, I am not even going to dare to go out even tomorrow I will skip Mass.
Interestingly I have my warm jersey on, so the rainy season is a suitable season for me here in Benin judging by experience so far.

Other than that my day has been good.
Perhaps one of these days you will have longer and better sleep.

I booked today last minute some flights to my mum… Friday I go. No direct flights available from Ireland sadly. So had to book 4 separate flights there and back with a wait of 4 to 6 hours between them.

Great to hear.
She doesn’t know yet I am coming… will be a surprise, I have to keep it quiet for safety reasons like said before… it’s complicated. Have to plan visiting carefully. Luckily I can stay at a friends place and hop on the train to her, hopefully a few times… if all goes well 🤞🏻

A surprise will be cool, like I did for my uncle, he never knew I was leaving SA and when I appeared he was so shocked and happy after over 15 years of seeing me last he just couldn't stop admiring me.
