Hi all 👋🏻

Today I want to share with you another special StreetArt find I discovered while I was exploring the city of #GALWAY in IRELAND 🇮🇪 😊
Drawings of children are incorporated by the artist.

I captured this #mural / #artwork on the side of a #wall on 19 May 2023.

It says;

The aim of the project was to instill in local children an awareness of their rights, including the right to play and participate in cultural events, as well as boost pride in their community.

Input from young Galway residents informed the mural’s design. Local artist Phillida Eves invited students from Galway city centre to share how they feel about their rights, what they like to do in their free time and to imagine what life would be like without art and culture. The resulting design by Emmalene Blake was inspired by the children’s insights, reflections and drawings.

The artist writes;

A recent piece I painted in Galway city for @baboro_festival. This was painted in collaboration with children of Galway and focused around the rights of the child, in particular the right to play and the right participate in cultural events.

I enjoyed incorporating some of the children’s drawings into this piece, flowing out of the book over the girl’s head. Swipe 👉 to see some of their drawings. Special shoutout to the kids who drew poop-cow and croca-sheep 👌👌🤣
