CCC's Street Art Contest #286/ Urban art that connects (ENG-ESP)

Hello to the whole community. A few days ago, I was in Alamar (East Havana, Cuba) and noticed a mural painted on the lower part of a building.

It mainly catches attention because of the iconic character Charlie Chaplin, but it is also an image that evokes reflection and human connection. It has a deeply emotional visual narrative, making it impossible to go unnoticed. This mural was created in 2024 by an artist whose name no one knows, although he was hired by a longtime neighbor to bring life to the neighborhood.

The second image I captured in Guanabacoa (Cuba), near the neighborhood where I live. It was painted by an elderly gentleman, whose name I do not know, at the end of last year (December 2023). It was made mainly because there are plans to create a space here for the sale of agricultural products to the public.

I think it is a very beautiful work, with vibrant colors representing local products and, of course, it beautifies a space that was previously in very poor condition.

I really like both murals. Some people, of course, do not notice it, but this kind of urban art transforms public spaces, telling stories and conveying human values and connection with the earth. I believe that just as there should be more trees, there should also be more educational street art in every corner.

Hola a toda la comunidad. Hace unos días estuve en Alamar (Habana del Este, Cuba) y me percaté de un mural realizado en los bajos de un edificio.

Llama la atención principalmente por el icónico personaje Charlie Chaplin, pero también es una imagen que evoca reflexión y apego humano. Tiene una narrativa visual profundamente emocional, por lo que resulta imposible que pase desapercibido. Este mural fue confeccionado en 2024 por un artista cuyo nombre nadie conoce, aunque fue contratado por un antiguo vecino para darle vida al barrio.

La segunda imagen la capturé en Guanabacoa (Cuba), cerca del barrio donde vivo. Fue pintada por un señor mayor, cuyo nombre desconozco, a finales del año pasado (diciembre de 2025). Se realizó fundamentalmente porque se planea crear aquí un espacio para la venta de productos agrícolas a la población.

Me parece una obra muy bonita, con colores vibrantes que representan los productos locales y, por supuesto, embellecen un poco más un espacio que antes estaba en muy mal estado.

Ambos murales me gustan mucho. Algunos, por supuesto, no lo notan, pero este tipo de arte urbano transforma los espacios públicos, contando historias y transmitiendo valores humanos y de conexión con la tierra. Creo que, así como debería haber más árboles, también debería haber más arte callejero educativo en cada rincón.
