CCC's Street Art Contest #266 - #266: Arepas & Graffiti in Caracas, Venezuela [Eng/Esp]
Hello friends of Street Art, hoping you're all well. Today I'm sharing my entry in the CCC's #266 contest. It's been a while since my last post, and even though I'm on vacation, I haven't had time to explore the main artistic plazas in downtown Caracas. However, I've been busy writing a project and working with online thesis advisors, so it's like an extension of my university work at home. However, today I had an opportunity because my best friend is about to become a father, and I was invited to the baby shower in downtown Caracas, not far from where I live. It was a 30-minute drive, and even though it was a rainy day, we got there pretty quickly. Just as we parked the car, I leaned out onto the balcony of the parking lot to enjoy the rain, and there, by chance, I came across this wonderful mural of the map of my country, but with a very special design, a design that emphasizes belonging: a map with arepas included!

When I saw this graffiti, I knew I had to share it with you: the map of Venezuela, with a beach sunset and stuffed arepas. There's nothing more Venezuelan than this. Although we have a great diversity of biomes in the country, from mountains to deserts to jungles, it's the magnificent beaches that define us as a Caribbean country.
Well, friends, fate would have it that on those rainy days in Caracas, in the Altagracia Parish, and more specifically on the Socorro Corner, I came across this brilliant mural. If you look closely, there are other amateur graffiti artists who, fortunately, didn't dare to do so over the main mural. It would be a shame if they ruined such beautiful art, so I wanted to share it with you because of its remarkable detail. See you in the next mural, dear friends. Best regards!

Hola amigos de Street Art esperando que se encuentren bien, hoy les traigo mi participación en el concurso CCC´s #266, había pasado un tiempo desde mi última publicación y es que aunque estoy de vacaciones no he tenido tiempo de pasearme por las principales plazas artísticas en el centro de la ciudad de Caracas pero he estado ocupado escribiendo proyecto y atendiendo tesistas vía onlines, así que es como una extensión de mi trabajo universitario en casa. Sin embargo, hoy tuve una oportunidad pues resulta que mi mejor amigo esta por ser padre y me habían invitado al baby shower en el centro de Caracas, no muy lejos de donde vivo por lo que fue un viaje de 30 minutos en carro y aunque era un día lluvioso llegamos bastante rápido. Justo en el momento en que habíamos estacionado el auto, me asome por un momento en el balcón del estacionamiento para disfrutar de la lluvia y alli pude encontrarme, casualmente con este maravilloso mural del mapa de mi país pero con un diseño muy especial, un diseño que realza la pertenencia: un mapa con arepas incluidas!

Cuando vi este graffiti supe que tenía que compartirlo con ustedes, el mapa de Venezuela, con un atardecer playero y arepas rellenas, no hay nada más venezolano que esto, aunque tenemos una gran diversidad de biomas en el país desde montaña, desiertos y selvas, son las magníficas playas las que nos definen como un país caribeño.
Bien amigos, quiso el destino que en esos días lluviosos de Caracas, en la Parroquia Altagracia y más específicamente en la Esquina Socorro que me encontrara con este genial mural, si te fijas hay otros graffitis de amateurs que afortunadamente no tuvieron el atrevimiento de hacerlo sobre el mural principal, sería una pena que arruinaran tan hermoso arte, así que quise compartírselo por el gran detalle que tiene.
