Obedecer a Dios es pura bendición. || Obeying God is pure blessing.

Those of us who love the Lord seek to please Him; we desire to follow the guidelines outlined by His word, and we accept His will, His grace, and His love for us.

Now it happened that, as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the crowd was pressing around Him to hear the word of God. 2 And He saw two boats lying close by on the lake's shore, and fishermen getting out of them were washing their nets. 3 And He got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and begged him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the crowd from the boat. 4 When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch." 5 Simon answered and said to Him, "Teacher, we have worked all night and caught nothing; but at Your word I will let down the net."

Luke 5:1-5

We recall in that portion of the Word the picture when Jesus Christ taught his disciples, "If you love me, keep my commandments." We see Jesus repeatedly repeating and conveying this great connection between love and obedience.

And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, that you walk in love, as you have heard from the beginning.

2 John 6

When we talk about obedience to God, we are talking about an "I love you." This means that I am willing to love that person; in this case, we are willing to love God. Having a correct view of obedience is when we understand that it is the result and expression of love for God. This allows us to navigate any complex situation, any difficulty, since God is always willing to love those who love Him.

Throughout God's word, we find many examples like that of the apostle Peter in that picture when Christ asked him for his boat to proclaim the good news. We remember that this disciple's main activity was fishing, and after all, he spent an entire night without success in his main activity; that is, he caught absolutely nothing. After Jesus asked him for his boat to preach, a perfect and well-justified excuse could have been the fatigue of having been active all night or the discouragement he faced for not having the results he expected. But instead, Simon Peter took a step of obedience. At that moment, lending Jesus his boat to help him didn't seem like a big deal at the time, but God had something very special planned. Beyond simply lending the boat to the master, that was the moment God used Peter's life so that, from that very moment on, Peter became a fisher of men, changing the lives of many and changing his life forever.

19 And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Matthew 4:19

May God greatly reward Peter by giving him a privileged place of service. May God do exactly the same for us. Are we ready to serve God at this moment?

Aconteció que estando Jesús junto al lago de Genesaret, el gentío se agolpaba sobre él para oír la palabra de Dios. 2 Y vio dos barcas que estaban cerca de la orilla del lago; y los pescadores, habiendo descendido de ellas, lavaban sus redes. 3 Y entrando en una de aquellas barcas, la cual era de Simón, le rogó que la apartase de tierra un poco; y sentándose, enseñaba desde la barca a la multitud. 4 Cuando terminó de hablar, dijo a Simón: Boga mar adentro, y echad vuestras redes para pescar. 5 Respondiendo Simón, le dijo: Maestro, toda la noche hemos estado trabajando, y nada hemos pescado; mas en tu palabra echaré la red.

Lucas 5:1-5

Recordamos en aquella porción de la palabra el cuadro cuando Jesucristo le enseñó a sus discípulos "si me amas guarda mis mandamientos", vemos a Jesús que en muchas ocasiones repitió y dio a entender esta gran conexión que hay entre el amor y la obediencia.

Y este es el amor, que andemos según sus mandamientos. Este es el mandamiento: que andéis en amor, como vosotros habéis oído desde el principio.

2 Juan 6

Cuando hablamos de la obediencia hacia Dios, estamos hablando de un "te amo" esto significa que estoy dispuesto a esa persona, en este caso estamos dispuestos para Dios. Tener una visión correcta de la obediencia es cuando entendemos que esto es el resultado y la expresión de amor a Dios, esto nos permite atravesar cualquier situación compleja, cualquier dificultad ya que Dios siempre está predispuesto para aquellos quienes les aman.

A lo largo de la palabra de Dios encontramos muchísimos ejemplos como el del apóstol Pedro en aquel cuadro cuando Cristo le pidió su barca para anunciar las buenas nuevas. Recordamos que la actividad principal de este discípulo era la pesca y después de todo una noche entera sin sin tener éxito en su principal actividad, es decir: durante toda la noche no pescó absolutamente nada. Después de qué Jesús le pidió su barca para predicar una excusa perfecta y bien justificada podría haber sido el cansancio de haber estado en actividad toda la noche o del desánimo que enfrentaba por no haber tenido el resultado que esperaba pero en lugar de todo eso Simón Pedro dio un paso de obediencia. En ese momento prestarle la barca a jesús para ayudarle no parecía nada importante en ese momento, pero Dios tenía planeado algo muy especial, más allá de simplemente prestar la barca al maestro, ese fue el momento en que Dios utilizó la vida de Pedro para que a partir de ese mismo momento Pedro se convierte en un pescador de hombres cambien la vida de muchos y cambie su vida para siempre.

19 Y les dijo: Venid en pos de mí, y os haré pescadores de hombres.

Mateo 4:19

Dios recompense grandemente a Pedro dándole un lugar de servicio privilegiado, Dios quiera hacer exactamente lo mismo con nosotros ¿nos disponemos al servicio a Dios en este momento?.
