Wednesday walk at St.Petersburg. Enjoying Neva river panorama - visual story in 20 photos
Today I invite you on a walk to Neva river embankment and around Vasilievsky Island Tip - one of the beautiful iconic places of St.Petersburg, the city I live in. This is a post to go with #WednesdayWalk challenge by @tattoodjay. Half of the post is usual #streetphoto and folks activities, and half is cityscapes.
Kids are having immense summer fun with gigantic soap bubbles.
On my way, noticed a huge crowd of skaters - might be it was some event I was not aware of.

Near the foot of the Rostral Column, I took some wonderful shots with the kids, which I will show ... another time. Consider these 2 captures as a teaser :)
In those sunny hot days most of my walks one way or another lead me to the enbankments, with its fresh air cooling me down.
The Tip of Vasilyevsky Island is an iconic viewpoint of the city, a favorite spot for walks and wedding photo shoots, for its beautiful panorama of the city. Although this time I did not meet any wedding :)
...but a lot of folks having their leizure time.
And now a bit more of architectural and general panoramic cityscapes.
Rostral column against the backdrop of the Stock Exchange building.
There is a torch at the top - these two columns initially were built as beacons indicating the Neva river fairway. (Nowadays, these torches sometimes can be lit - on special festive occasions). The technical space inside the columns of course, is hollow; it is a spiral staircase to climb to the top. Unfortunately, it is not accessible to the public and the top of the columns cannot be used as a viewing platform (what a tempting thought!) I have read in the blogs of some lucky people that earlier, 20-30 years ago, when morals were easier, some people used a small bribe to municipal workers to get inside and look around the place ... but now you most likely will not succeed performing a similar trick.
This is how this place looks like - the tip of Vasilyevsky Island from the opposite embankment. On the background side you can see one of the buildings of the Hermitage state museum. (I want to create a separate post about it, one day).
Neva river is full of water scooters, boats, yachts. Some moments even look like a traffic jam!

I was walking with 70-200mm lens, which is huge, even bigger than one you see in this frame below.
Floating restaurant "Wind" - tables with a magnificent view of the Neva panorama, Vasilievsky Island Tip and the Hermitage. No need to mention how expensive this place is :)

Exploring St. Petersburg's Vasilievsky Island through your words is like taking a stroll with you! 🚶♂️ It's wonderful how you've captured the essence of the surroundings, from the vibrant cityscapes to the lively street activities. How children playing with gigantic soap bubbles that's so beautiful.

its not to bad my 200-600 is heavy the 50-400 is fine for walking with I take it with me almost all the time

Yes, it is considered as iconic, a lot of historic spots are there. its like a 'crossroad of historical center' of the city...
Did you ever tried to create such gigantic bubbles yourself? I did it 3 times, with my babygirl. It is a lot of fun! (I keep a receipe somewhere... may share ). Thanks for walking with me, have a !PIZZA
I haven't tried to create bubbles like that myself but was at a town square in Belgium once where a guy was doing it. It was really neat
Musicians playing beside the water is a very nice scenario
It is so cool and the songs will be very nice to listen to mainly because of the breeze that will be caused by the water...
Neva sometimes likes to overflow its banks - you need to make to stay frosty and not to be washed away into the ocean along with the piano :))))

Я могу всё не прокомментировать, но Эдика Композёра не могу не прокомментировать.) Прелестно, что он так вышел со своим пианино, и желает денег и, возможно, также и тёлку.) Но как бы не смыло внезапной океанской волной его небрежно брошенный чехол. )
(Я прошу прощения за термин "тёлка", но было важно использовать именно его.)
Это некий поток сознания, который родился, когда я присмотрелся к этому проныре, к которому я бы в реальной жизни не испытал симпатии, я думаю. Но история на фото есть.
Однажды, когда такие плакаты станут дичью прошлого, а на улицах будет больше роботов, чем людей, это изображение покажется безумно ностальгичным.
Лучшее фото поста, считаю, девушка на скутере (это так называется же?), потому что там много Питера: сам этот скутер, один из триллиона подобных устройств на улицах Петербурга (в Бангкоке такого нет), люди, праздно сидящие у воды, злобные невские волны (дует!), полоска исторического центра, какие-то картинки на продажу даже, и, главное, много синего холода, жаждущего выползти из камня, как только потухнет оранжевый прожектор чахоточного питерского солнца. Конечно, это - летние фото, наверняка, было +500, но это не меняет ощущения, идущего от фотографии. А во-вторых, питерский холод - это не просто низкая температура, это демон, питающийся суставами и слизистой горла, и этот демон никуда не уходит даже когда +500, он тут и там, в граните и булыжнике мостовой, сидит, точит когти, посмеивается, а если кто додумается залезть в воду, хватает за ноги и тянет.
О, ты сколько навертел психологии и трансцендентности (не знаю что это такое в точности). Но Эдик да, видимо тот еще монстрилло. В кадре не видно, но его там стояли и кое-кто весьма даже внимательно и благодарно внимал. Я не включил в пост многие из картинок, хотя надо было бы. Рядом стояла девушка, и под его электронную музыку снимала на свой телефон панораму. А я сфотографировал ее. И под это дело даже сговорились на следующий день нарочно вместе погулять. Оказалось, она сама фотограф. В общем, многое всегда остается за кадром.
Кстати, я каждый вторник (или около того) делюсь страстью и хорошей музыкой. !LUV Ты слушатель ли?
