Hi guys, so funny story. Ever intended to do something and it came out completely different? Then you thought you had a name for the unintended outcome but your friend came along and identified what you had named to be another thing? Lol that was exactly what happened with this project.

So I had intended to make a cat pouch for my airpod. You know, as someone who is always in search of her airpod, this project is long overdue. It took several motivation from my mother for me to go through with this. While I was crocheting a bralette for a friend, my mom walked in and questioned, "so all the crochet that you have been doing for other people, you can't do one to safe guard your aipod? Later you will be searching everywhere for it.

Well, it didn't occur to me that I would be needing a pouch for my airpod case till it went missing for weeks and I had assumed someone stole it. While I was preparing to get another airpod, my mommy called me one afternoon while I was at work and told me that she found it under the chair at my charging point area. I didn't need her to ring it in my ear again, I knew I needed to make a pouch that I could attach to my bag. Not just any pouch, but a beautiful pouch that will attract me. Something that will make forming the habit of storing my airpod casing easy.

So folks I set out to make a cat pouch but after attaching the eyes, nose and mouth, I thought it looked like a bear and I don't think bears have whiskers so I left out the whiskers part. Sending this to @abenad and she told me it looks like the Lion in the inleo logo 😂.

Well whatever it wants to be tagged, I finally made the pouch for my airpod and it's just me picking it up from there and dropping it after use.

So let's go over to the procedure

Material

Yarn (White, brown and black)
6.00mm crochet hook.
Crochet needle

Procedure

Step one

Make a magic circle, after which you insert your hook and chain two, this counts as one stitch. Next, make eleven double crochet plus the two we had earlier chained to give us twelve stitches (DC) in total. Pull the leftover strand or string from the circle to bring all the stitches together. With a slip stitch, join the round.

Step two

Chain two and then in the same stitch make two double crochet, this counts as two stitches. In the rest stitches crochet two double crochet each giving us 24 stitches (DC) in total join this round together with a slip stitch.

Step three

We would go in with an increase by chaining one and then making two double crochet in another stitch. We will build on this round with one double crochet and two double crochet increase respectively on all stitches then we end the round as usual with a slip stitch.

THE EAR

Locate the side of the circle at one end and mark with a stitch marker. Locate the other side and also mark. Remove one of the stitch markers and make a slip stitch. After which you go in with two double crochet in the same stitch which counts as our first stitch for the ear.

For the second stitch, I made two quadruple crochet in the same stitch and then for the third stitch, I made two double crochet in the same stitch after which I sealed with a slip stitch.

I slipped stitch to the other stitch marker and then repeated the same pattern I had used for the initial ear.

I proceeded with the increase, till I got to the other ear, ending the fourth round with a slip stitch.

In between the ears I made 50 chaines and attached the other end close to the beginning of the chain.

With this, we have formed one part of our pouch.

For the second part, we repeat the same procedure but instead of 50 chains in the middle, we make ten chains of which by the time both sides of the pouch are sealed together with a slip stitch, the 50 chains will go in between the 10 chains to close it. But before sealing both sides with a slip stitch, we'd first sew in the eyes, nose and mouth with a crochet needle and black thread.

** AFTER THE EAR, REPEAT THIS STEP THREE FOR ROUND FOUR**
