Today was a very special day… Ram Navami And the best part was it was Sunday too so I had full time to enjoy the festival Honestly Sunday is the only day we get off from office so it already feels special I was feeling very lazy in morning and I wake up late at 1040 AM Normally I try to wake up early but today I couldn’t help it We had already planned that we will go to temple today so after waking up I directly went to take shower and freshen up I came back to room and was feeling relaxed because no office no work stress nothing There was no other plan also to go somewhere because Sunday is usually chill day

But yes one thing was decided 4-5 days back that in the evening we all will go to Ram Mandir which is near Bhashan Circle It's not too far from our place hardly 1 to 1.5 KM Since I woke up late in morning I missed breakfast Then during lunch time we went to mess to eat food but I don't know what happened today the food was just not good Something was made that I really don’t like at all so I just ate little bit And as it's Sunday we knew that there will be no dinner served in mess That was already in mind so I was not expecting anything special later

After finishing our light lunch we were just sitting in the room when our elder roommate bhaiya came from PG He stays there mostly but today he came to our room and said let’s go to Ram Mandir in the evening He also told that Aarti happens at 7:30 PM so we will go at that time only We all agreed and I told him okay fine then we will get ready around evening and go together

As the time passed around 4:30 PM both me and my roommate started feeling really hungry Like not normal hungry it was very strong hunger and maybe because we knew dinner will be after Mandir so we thought let’s eat something light now otherwise we will faint in Mandir only So we went to a nearby shop where we know good quality Holige are sold We had and while returning back we saw some people were distributing lassi and sharbat as Prasad for Ram Navami We didn’t say no and took the sharbat with love For us that’s also blessing from Lord Ram after then we found one more shop shode name is Rajasthani kachori we tried that also and that was also delicious

Around 6:30 PM we started getting ready Within 30 minutes we were done and we all – me my roommate Deepanshu and our bhaiya – left from our PG to the temple Initially we thought we will go walking because it’s nearby but bhaiya said let’s go by scooty because after Mandir we will go directly for dinner So we agreed He took us all three on his scooty and we reached the Mandir

When we reached the temple it was beautifully decorated Ram Navami being such a big festival there was crowd but very peaceful and organized There were two lines made for Darshan – one normal and one VIP For VIP line you have to pay ₹100 but guess what the person managing the VIP passes was none other than our PG owner He saw us and smiled and gave us VIP entry without taking any money That moment felt so lucky We quickly entered and did the Darshan without any long wait The idol of Lord Ram was decorated so nicely the whole environment was filled with chants and bells ringing It felt so calm and pure

After Darshan as we were exiting the Mandir we saw a group of girls performing Kathak dance on stage We are from North side so Kathak is not something we usually see live It was very graceful and traditional We decided to sit and watch it We ended up watching the whole event for around 1 hour There were bhajans stories of Lord Ram dance performances and the overall environment was so spiritual I can’t explain in words but it gave inner peace I was just sitting there thinking how beautiful and meaningful such days are

After event ended we clicked some pictures near Mandir Mandir was glowing in lights and there were beautiful flower decorations so we couldn’t resist taking few good pics After photo session we all sat on scooty again and went to Vijay Nagar because we had heard that food options there are really good First thing we did there was to eat Pav Bhaji It was so tasty and spicy just what we needed After that we tried Lachha Paratha with Sabji and to end the meal with sweetness we had Falooda By that time our stomachs were totally full and our hearts were happy

We came back to PG around 10:30 PM Honestly today was one of the most peaceful and happy days I had after long time I felt very relaxed very peaceful Sometimes going to temple attending cultural programs seeing people celebrate with love and respect – all this makes you feel connected to your roots

Why Ram Navami is Important

Ram Navami is not just another Hindu festival It is a reminder of the values Lord Ram taught us – honesty kindness patience and righteousness He is called “Maryada Purushottam” because he lived life with high moral standards Ram Navami is celebrated all across India with a lot of devotion From big cities to small villages people come together clean their homes worship Lord Ram chant bhajans read Ramayan and do charity work It brings the whole community together It is also believed that taking part in Ram Navami celebrations brings good luck and peace in life For me it was more than just celebration – it was a day where I felt calmness in my heart and a kind of connection to something pure

So overall today’s day was perfect Woke up late but still managed to make the most of the day Missed breakfast didn’t enjoy lunch no dinner in PG – still managed to eat tasty food outside But more than food and pictures what made the day so memorable was the spiritual vibe of Mandir and the peace I felt during and after the Darshan I really feel grateful for today I hope to experience many more Ram Navami like this in future too

Thanks for reading if you are still here I just wanted to share how my simple day turned into something beautiful and peaceful Sometimes such days stay in heart for long time

Jai Shree Ram
