Mushroom and Green Bean Combination That Stimulates Appetite

For vegetable lovers, the right combination of vegetables can be a great appetite stimulant!

IMG_3516.jpeg

Mushrooms and green beans? What do you think? I am indeed a mushroom lover. Want any kind of mushrooms. Do you like mushrooms?

IMG_3522.jpeg

I do have sweet memories with my mother. Mushrooms helped us survive when we were short of food to cook when I was little. So until now, there is no reason for me not to like mushrooms. Mushrooms are always in my heart.

IMG_3521.jpeg

So are green beans! Green beans have a crunchy texture and taste a little sweet. Because today I have both, mushrooms and green beans, I will combine them both!

IMG_3523.jpeg

For a different taste and strong aroma, I added kaffir lime leaves. Also, ginger. You can also add bay leaves but this time I ran out of bay leaves.

I also used mushroom powder, coriander powder, and pepper powder to strengthen the combination of mushrooms and green beans.

IMG_3518.jpeg
In addition, an optional thing for you is the addition of red chilies. I always add red chili to stir-fried dishes 😊 It all depends on each person's taste.

Well, the way to cook stir-fried green beans and mushrooms is really easy. We just need to cut and slice the ingredients. Then, stir-fry and stir until cooked. Let's cook!

THE INGREDIENTS

IMG_3520.jpeg

  • 250 grams of mushrooms
  • 250 grams of green beans
  • 2 medium ripe tomatoes
  • 5 cloves of shallots
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 5 kaffir lime leaves
  • a thumb size of ginger, flattened
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • (optional) red chilies to taste

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

STEP 1

IMG_3524.jpeg

First of course I prepare all the ingredients to make it easier to cook. I start by thinly slicing the garlic, shallots, also red chilies, and kaffir lime leaves, also tomatoes.

IMG_3525.jpegthen, continue to process the green beans. Here, I thinly slice lengthwise as my husband requested. 😊

IMG_3526.jpeg
I continue to process the mushrooms. It takes a little more time to clean the remaining soil. Then I cut them into smaller pieces so that the texture of the mushrooms is easier to enjoy when eating.

STEP 2

IMG_3527.jpegHeat a little oil. Then, add flattened ginger, garlic, shallots. Stir well until they smell fragrant.

STEP 3

IMG_3528.jpegAdd mushrooms and green beans, also with red chili or red paprika if you are using red paprika. Stir well. We don't need to add water because mushrooms already contain natural water. Cook until cooked for about 5 minutes.

STEP 4

IMG_3529.jpeg
Just before removing, add tomato slices and sliced of kaffir lime leaves. Also, salt, pepper, and coriander powder. Stir well, then remove from heat.

IMG_3530.jpeg

THE RESULTS

IMG_3515.jpeg

This is a typical daily side dish. So as much as possible I cook it simply so that it doesn't take much time in the kitchen. And we can do other things besides being in the kitchen. Oh, of course! Balance in life is important.

IMG_3517.jpeg
Like the balance of flavors of these stir-fried green beans and mushrooms! Wait, also spicy stuff! Yeaaaay! 👏 but sorry if you can't eat spicy, then you can replace the red chili with red paprika. 😊 Until next on my recipe!

I do have sweet memories with my mother

🌷

Stimulating the appetite...I guess that's good for people who are ill. It's my experience around here appetites are over stimulated :)) It seems the abundance of food is contrary to the whole of human history when food was scarce and we had to struggle to consume enough calories. Our bodies are engineered to eat, to store up fat against hard times. Those hard times don't come for most in my country (not all!!) and so many are left with stored up fat.

When I was a child and food was scarce my mother used to cook up spaghetti until it was so soft it would seem to be a lot and would fill our stomachs momentarily. She had many tricks for filling our bellies, but that one I remember clearly, and poignantly.

When a mother can cook, there will always be food available, even with the ingredients available.

Of course, the present is different, and nature is no longer the same. If there is still an opportunity to create food independence from small home plantations and farms, then that would be very helpful.

Such a colorful dish. Two of my favorite veggies are green beans and mushrooms. I can see why no water is needed to make a sauce. Two ingredients I haven't seen is mushroom powder and lime leaves.

Thanks for sharing. Your arrangement and presentation is lovely. Take care.

Without lime leaves, it still tastes good!
Add soy sauce with brown sugar is also very good!
Or even the simplest is just stir-fry them with garlic also the best taste
