De vez en cuando la portada, puede atraer lo suficiente para ya ser un motivo para comprar un libro. Es el caso con este título que tras ver la portada y su sinopsis trasera, me interesó darle una oportunidad. Ya lo leí y decidí traer su reseña. Del autor japones Satoshi Yagisawa, publicado el 2010.

Occasionally the cover can be attractive enough to be a reason to buy a book. That is the case with this title that after seeing the cover and its back synopsis, I was interested in giving it a chance. I already read it and decided to bring its review. From Japanese author Satoshi Yagisawa, published in 2010.

Sinopsis: Takako, una joven, que tras una abrupta ruptura con su novio y renunciar a su empleo, ve como única forma de mantenerse en Tokio es aceptar la ayuda de su tío Satoru. Él le ofrecerá alojamiento en el 2do piso de su negocio, la librería Morisaki. Esta estancia le permitirá dar una pausa a su vida, mientras conoce nuevas personas y reflexiona sobre sus propias emociones y deseos.

Synopsis: Takako, a young woman, who after an abrupt breakup with her boyfriend and quitting her job, sees the only way to support herself in Tokyo is to accept the help of her uncle Satoru. He will offer her accommodation on the 2nd floor of his business, the Morisaki bookstore. This stay will allow her to take a break from her life, while meeting new people and reflecting on her own emotions and desires.

Si bien esta sinopsis contiene una gran parte del libro, la realidad es que el libro se divide en dos partes. En la 2da parte veremos la causa del retorno de la esposa de Satoru, Momoko, después de una larga ausencia.

While this synopsis contains a large part of the book, the reality is that the book is divided into two parts. In the 2nd part we will see the cause of the return of Satoru's wife, Momoko, after a long absence.

Es una lectura ligera, que si bien tiene momentos reflexivos, no busca centrarse en ello, sino en crear un contexto relajante. Ya que la protagonista se verá en un punto donde podrá, mediante la lectura y conocer nuevas personas, dar una pausa a la vida que tenía, y ver nuevas perspectivas a su rutina. Finalmente logra superar su problema interno y seguir avanzando.

It is a light read, that although it has reflective moments, it does not seek to focus on it, but to create a relaxing context. Since the protagonist will be at a point where she can, through reading and meeting new people, give a break to the life she had, and see new perspectives to her routine. She finally manages to overcome her internal problem and move on.

El drama de Momoko es más interesante pero que de igual manera busca mezclar con un contexto tranquilo, como es el de una posada en una montaña frondosa. Hay mucho énfasis en la introspección y comunicación para superar los baches de la vida.

Momoko's drama is more interesting but still seeks to blend it with a tranquil context, such as a lodge in a lush mountain setting. There is a lot of emphasis on introspection and communication to overcome life's bumps.

Si te gustan los libros y la lectura, el escenario es un deleite pues la mayoría de la historia sucede en la misma, mientras se conoce un poco de la calle dedicada a los libros en Jimbocho, Tokio.

If you like books and reading, the setting is a delight as most of the story takes place there, while getting to know a bit of the street dedicated to books in Jimbocho, Tokyo.

En general es un libro que me gustó por su escenario y la facilidad con que genera una historia relajante y reflexiva a la vez.

Overall it is a book that I enjoyed for its setting and the ease with which it generates a story that is both relaxing and thoughtful.
