LA NOCHE DE INSOMNIO/Reseña _Antología/ Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda (Esp_Ing)

Hablar de Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda y su obra, es adentrarse en un universo contradictorio y complejo por eso trataré de centrarme en uno de los libros que, para mí, atesora los textos más valiosos de la obra poética de la Tula.

Una parte de la vasta creación de una poeta que admiro y respeto, tanto desde mi posición de poeta, como la de mujer y Camagueyana por demás.

Se trata de la antología poética "LA NOCHE DE INSOMNIO", publicada por la Editorial Ácana en el (2003) y reeditada enel (2024) y que aún se encuentra a la venta en las librerías del Camagüey.

En la expresión de Antón Arufat que tuvo a su cargo las palabras de contracubierta: destaca, la zona de la poesía lírica de la Avellaneda, oscurecidas por sus extensas tiradas retóricas y el evidente desacierto de sus críticos " fin de la cita.

Tula es sin duda una mujer que hace justicia a su calificativo de Precursora del tiempo por la valentía de imponerse en un ámbito de dominio totalmente masculino,prejuicioso, misógino y ella pasea, con total elegancia y dominio de conocimientos literarios,su obra que deja bien sentada las pautas de su calidad creativa.

Algunos la señalan como alguien que no asumió una posición política definida con respecto a Cuba y la Metrópoli pero no se debe obviar que se debatía entre dos vertientes en pugna y posible ostigamiento.

Pero mi verdadera intensión en estas líneas no es referirme a ese tema si no las corriente literarias que se visualizan en esta antología y que también atañen a su autora.

Está enmarcada dentro del romanticismo por el período literario en que florece la obra pero su contenido se debate en esa corriente y tendencia neoclásica por poseer rasgos de ambos movimientos.

ROMANCE

No soy maga ni sirena,
ni querube ni pitonisa,
me llamas hoy, bella niña.
Gertrudis tengo por nombre,
cuál recibido en la pila;
me dice Tula mi madre,
y mis amigos la imitan.
Prescinde,pues,te lo ruego,
de las Safos y Corinas,
y simplemente me nombra
Gertrudis, Tula o amiga,
amiga,si, que aunque tanto
contra tu sexo te indignas,
y de maligno lo acusas
y de envidioso lo tildas,
en mi pretendo probarte
que hay en almas femeninas,
para lo hermoso entusiasmo
para lo bueno justicia...

En el anterior fragmento del poema, a pesar de estar escrito en Romance, el contenido del poema denota una expresión firme, clara, serena y equilibrada sin exaltación de la fantasía.

Una mujer empoderada,adelantada a su época que no sigue patrones impuesto por una sociedad sexista.

En el poema que da nombre al cuaderno por su estructura, se vislumbra una tendencia al modernismo por la ruptura de los patrones clásicos y aunque conserva la métrica cada ocho versos juega con la estructura del poema de manera desenfadada.

Comienza con versos visilabos aumentando una silabas cada ocho versos,de un total de ciento veinte que conforman el texto total que terminan en dieciséis.

Aquí les entrego tres estrofas del poema(principio, mitad y cierre) como muestra.

Y para culminar esta reseña lo hago con un soneto clásico, el poema más conocido de la poetisa Camagueyana.

Toma vigencia en nuestros días, cuando la migración es un flagelo que lacera a la Cuba actual.

To talk about Gertrudis Gómez de Avellaneda and her work is to delve into a contradictory and complex universe, so I will try to focus on one of the books that, for me, treasures the most valuable texts of Tula's poetic oeuvre.

A part of the vast work of a poet I admire and respect, both from my position as a poet and as a woman and a Camagüeyan.

This is the poetry anthology "LA NOCHE DE INSOMNIO" (Sleepless Night), published by Ácana Publishing House in 2003 and reissued in 2024, which is still on sale in bookstores in Camagüey.

Tula is undoubtedly a woman who lives up to her title of "Precursor of Time" for her courage in asserting herself in a sphere dominated entirely by men, prejudiced, and misogynistic, and she displays, with total elegance and command of literary knowledge, her work, which clearly establishes the standards of her creative quality.

Some point to her as someone who did not take a defined political position regarding Cuba and the Metropolis, but it should not be overlooked that she was torn between two opposing and potentially harassing currents.

But my true intention in these lines is not to refer to that topic, but rather to the literary currents that are visualized in this anthology and that also concern to its author.

It is framed within Romanticism due to the literary period in which the work flourishes, but its content debates that neoclassical current and tendency, possessing traits of both movements.

In the previous fragment of the poem, despite being written In Romance, the poem's content denotes a firm, clear, serene, and balanced expression without the exaltation of fantasy.

An empowered woman, ahead of her time, who does not follow patterns imposed by a sexist society.

In the poem that gives the notebook its name due to its structure, a tendency toward modernism is discerned through the breaking of classical patterns. Although it maintains the meter every eight lines, it plays with the structure of the poem in a casual manner.

It begins with two-syllable verses, increasing by one syllable every eight lines, out of a total of one hundred and twenty that make up the entire text, ending in sixteen.

And to conclude this review, I do so with a classic sonnet, the best-known poem by the Camagüeyan poetess.

It takes on relevance in our days, when migration is a scourge that lacerates Cuba today.

The poem is also the culmination of this beautiful anthology.
