Continuando con las review de la saga Las Crónicas de Narnia, hoy tocó el turno al tercer libro El Caballo y El Muchacho, el cuál fue uno de los que más me gustó a pesar de la poquísima participación de los hermanos Pevensie, lo cuál me hace suponer porqué en el cine lo omitieron por completo y decidieron pasar directamente a rodar El Príncipe Caaspian, pero tal como todos los libros de esta saga, el tercero es digno de analizar y profundizar, así que sin más dilación inciemos 😊
Continuing with the review of The Chronicles of Narnia saga, today it was the turn of the third book The Horse and the Boy, which was one of the ones I liked the most despite the very little participation of the Pevensie brothers, which makes me suppose why in the cinema they omitted it completely and decided to go directly to film The Prince Caaspian, but as all the books of this saga, the third one is worthy to analyze and deepen, so without further delay let's start 😊
Overview/Resumen
Tal como les digo el libro nos soprende pues sus protagonistas no son los cuatro hermanos Pevensie, sino cuatro fugitivos, Arabis, quien es la Tarkheena (hija del tarkan de Calormen) Shasta quien aparentemente era esclavo pero realmente tiene un origen mucho más interesante, Hwin, la yegua de Arabis y Bree que es uno de los animales parlantes de Narnia que por alguna razón terminó como bestia a cargo de los calormenos, los tres deciden huir de sus respectivos destinos y sus vidas se cruzan en el camino en busca de la tan apreciada libertad, descubriendo así su propio origen
As I say the book surprises us because its protagonists are not the four Pevensie brothers, but three fugitives, Arabis, who is the Tarkheena (daughter of the tarkan of Calormen) Shasta who apparently was a slave but really has a much more interesting origin, Hwin, Arabis' mare, and Bree who is one of the talking animals of Narnia who for some reason ended up as a beast in the care of the Calormen, the three decide to flee their respective destinies and their lives cross paths in search of the much appreciated freedom, thus discovering their own origin.
My Opinion/Mi Opinión
Honestamente creo que uno de los mensajes principales de esta historia es la importancia de la honestidad, y el hecho de saber que toda acción, buena o mala genera consecuencias. una escena en particular me llamó la atención y me encnató, me refiero exactamente a la primera aparición de Aslan, él arañó la espalda de Arabis y fue la primera vez que lo vi atacar a alguien, del lado de los buenos, pero lo hzo para que ella pudera experimentar de cierta manera, las heridas que le había provocado el látigo a la sierva que solía servirle a ella en el paacio, heridas que fueron infringidas como castigo por haberla ayudado a escapar.
I honestly think that one of the main messages of this story is the importance of honesty, and the fact of knowing that every action, good or bad, generates consequences. One scene in particular caught my attention and enchanted me, I mean exactly the first appearance of Aslan, he scratched Arabis' back and it was the first time I saw him attack someone, on the side of the good guys, but he did it so that she could experience in a certain way, the wounds that the whip had caused to the servant who used to serve her in the palace, wounds that were inflicted as punishment for having helped her to escape.
Las escenas que más disfruté fueron las del viaje de los fugitivos y como estos tenían que enfrentarse a los desafíos que iban surgiendo, lo que a su vez los obligó a evolucionar, y muchas veces Shasta tomó la iniciativa y asumió el liderazgo (algo que estaba en su naturaleza después de todo) Por otra parte también me gusta ver como se desenvuelven los Penvensie como monarcas, ya que a pesar de no ser los protagonistas de la historia es en este libro donde podemos verlos ejerciendo el poder que Aslan les confirió, y nos hace entender porque Narnia los amaba tanto.
The scenes I enjoyed the most were those of the journey of the fugitives and how they had to face the challenges that arose, which in turn forced them to evolve, and many times Shasta took the initiative and assumed the leadership (something that was in her nature after all) On the other hand I also like to see how the Penvensie's perform as monarchs, because even though they are not the main characters of the story, it is in this book where we can see them exercising the power that Aslan conferred them, and it makes us understand why Narnia loved them so much.
Por último me gustaría mencionarles o recordarles (en caso de que ustedes ya sean fans de esta saga) que Las Crónicas de Narnia está llenísimo de referencias bíblicas, de hecho muchos personajes o escenas son alteregos de la bíblia, y yo creo que esta novela específicamente guarda mucha similitud con la historia de Moisés, por ejemplo, Shasta, al igual que Moisés fue recogido de las aguas y criado por una persona que no era ni siquiera su pariente, también creció ignorando su verdadero origen, aunque la diferencia está en que Moisés, siendo hebreo y por lo tanto esclavo, fue criado como príncipe, mientras que Shasta quien era un príncipe fue criado como siervo. Por otra parte Narnia parece ser la tierra prometida, y el viaje delos personajes transcurre a través del desierto, es asombrosamente fascinante.
Finally I would like to mention or remind you (in case you are already a fan of this saga) that The Chronicles of Narnia is full of biblical references, in fact many characters or scenes are alteregos of the bible, and I think that this novel specifically has a lot of similarities with the story of Moses, for example, Shasta, like Moses was picked up from the waters and raised by a person who was not even his relative, also grew up ignorant of his true origin, although the difference is that Moses, being a Hebrew and therefore a slave, was raised as a prince, while Shasta who was a prince was raised as a servant. On the other hand, Narnia seems to be the promised land, and the characters' journey through the desert is astonishingly fascinating.
De todo corazón les recomiendo esta saga si aman los libros de fantasía, porque honestamente creo que, a pesar de lo increíble que pueda resultar, muchas veces la historia está más apegada a nuestra realidad de loque te podrías imagniar. I wholeheartedly recommend this saga if you love fantasy books, because I honestly believe that, despite how unbelievable it may be, many times the story is closer to our reality than you could imagine. I just finished the plot summary and I would definitely love to read this book. I was already intrigued but I was immediately sold the moment I saw the bible reference part. Anything about religion is always so interesting.
