The Book of Enoch (Forbidden Books of The Bible)

I was surprised to learn that the Book of Enoch didn't make it into the Bible. Enoch is mentioned throughout the Bible a few times, as well as the army of Watchers and giants. It has been widely accepted that Goliath was one of the giant offspring. In fact, skeletons of 8" giants have been discovered in various parts of the world!

There are some who say that Enoch could not be accepted because it is believed that Books 2-5 may have been written by different authors. I do not accept this theory due to the fact that the modern calendar is mentioned in Enoch -- something that was not invented and accepted until 1582, almost 2,000 years after Enoch!

There are other references that we will uncover along the way, but regardless, we must start at the beginning. Book 1 immediately opens with Enoch receiving a vision about Jesus and Judgement Day. There is even mention from God Himself about the Mark of the Beast, something that is not mentioned until the last book in the Bible: Revelation!

"'I saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens ... but not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come.'" (Enoch book 1 1:2)

"And for all of you sinners there shall be no salvation but on you all shall abide the curse of the beast." (Enoch book 1 2:13)

Then, the fallen angels arrive; in total, 200 descended onto earth. They decide to mate with human women, who in turn give birth to a HUGE giant race!

"And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men and beget us children.'" (Enoch book 1 3:2)

These giants, superior in stature and strength, are ruthless, insatiable beings who devour mankind of food and drink, before eventually devouring humans as well! The angels also share secret knowledge with humans, including astrology, astronomy, weaponry, and botany.

"And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants ... Who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind." (Enoch book 1 3:9)

The prayers and cries of men eventually reach God, so God gives Enoch another vision. He tells Enoch that the giants will go to war and kill one another to extinction; their souls will not have salvation.

"And now, behold, the souls of those who have died are crying out making their suit to the gates of heaven, and their lamentations have ascended and cannot cease because of the lawless deeds which are wrought on the earth." (Enoch book 1 4:7)

God also informs His angels to bind the leader of the Watchers, Azazel, into the Abyss, where he shall remain until Judgement Day... God determines the sentence to be "seventy generations," which is about 2,100 years -- could THIS be the year for Judgement Day?!

"And again the Lord said to Raphael, 'Bind Azazel hand and foot, and cast him into the darkness: ... And on the day of the great judgement he shall be cast into the fire.'" (Enoch book 1 4:10)

The Watchers approach Enoch and ask him to be a mediator between them and God. They offer Enoch a petition of prayers to God, asking if He will have mercy and grant their giant offspring eternal life, the same as them. God refuses. He tells them the giants will live for 500 years, and their souls will be evil spirits that plague the earth.

"And now, the giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon the earth, and on the earth shall be their dwelling. ... because they are born from men and from the Watchers is their beginning and primal origin ... And the spirits of the giants afflict, oppress, destroy, attack, do battle, and work destruction on the earth, and cause trouble. They take no food, but nevertheless hunger and thirst, and cause offences." (Enoch book 1 5:28-30)

Enoch receives a few more visions after this. In one, angels show him the many wonders of the universe, including the system of rivers, the paths of the wind, and the journey of the angels. They also show Enoch the different areas of the afterlife: the Abyss for the fallen angels, the three sections for the righteous, the wicked, and the "in-betweeners" (my own word LOL).

"This is the spirit which went forth from Abel, whom his brother Cain slew, and he makes his suit against him till his seed is destroyed from the face of the earth, and his seed is annihilated from amongst the seed of men.'" (Enoch 7:22)

There is even a part where they show Enoch the Tree of Knowledge that Adam and Eve had eaten fruit from!

"'This is the tree of wisdom, of which thy father old and thy aged mother, who were before thee, have eaten, and they learnt wisdom and their eyes were opened, and they knew that they were naked and they were driven out of the garden.'" (Enoch 7:59)
