(Review) The Chronicles of Narnia [The Voyage of the Dawn Treader] ESP/ENG
Hello people of the Internet, are you all right? Today I'm bringing you a review of my favorite Narnia book. For those who don't know, I'm a fan of two wonderful sagas: Harry Potter and Narnia. I love them. I think each one, although they move in the same fantasy universe, is different in its style. Now, speaking of Narnia, which is the saga that brought me here today, I can tell you that my favorite book is The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. My copy is a little battered because I once left it on the dining room table and accidentally spilled a glass of water on it, but I still keep it with love because I love it.
Hola gente de Internet ¿todo bien? Hoy les traigo una review de mi libro favorito de Narnia. Para los que no lo saben soy fan de dos sagas maravillosas, una es Harry Potter y la otra es Narnia, me encantan, creo que cada una, aunque se mueven en el mismo universo de fantasía, son diferentes en su estilo, ahora bien, hablando de Narnia que es la saga que me trajo aquí hoy, puedo decirles que mi libro favorito es La Travesía del Viajero del Alba. Mi ejemplar está un poco maltratado porque en una ocasión lo dejé sobre la mesa del comedor y por accidente se me derramó un vaso con agua, pero de todos modos lo conservo con amor porque lo amo.
The story begins when two of the Pevensie siblings, Lucy and Edmund, must stay for a while at the house of Aunt Alberta and the annoying cousin Eustace, who had a sour personality and was always looking for ways to make Lucy and Edmund have a bad time. Suddenly they saw a strange painting that Eustace did not like, in it you could see a sailing ship sailing in a choppy sea, but it seemed to have movement, however, at some point both Lucy and Edmund and Eustace were absorbed by the painting until when they least expected it they were on board the ship. This was not just any ship, it was The Dawn Treader in command of King Caspian who were on a rescue mission, he had to find the seven lost lords of Narnia, but as the characters face adverse situations they acquire a lot of knowledge.
La historia comienza cuando dos de los hermanos Pevensie, Lucy y Edmund deben quedarse a vivir un tiempo en casa de la tía Alberta y el molesto primo Eustace, el cual tenía una personalidad agria y siempre buscaba la forma de hacer que Lucy y Edmund la pasaran mal. De pronto vieron una pintura extraña que a Eustace no le gustaba, en ella se podía ver un barco de vela navegando en un mar picado, pero parecía tener movimiento, sin embargo, en algún punto tanto Lucy como Edmund y Eustace fueron absorbidos por la pintura hasta que cuando menos lo esperaban estaban a bordo del barco. Este no era cualquier barco, era El Viajero del Alba a cargo del Rey Caspian que estaban en una misión de rescate, debía encontrar a los siete lores perdidos de Narnia, pero a medida que los personajes enfrentan situaciones adversas adquieren muchos conocimientos.
I love the book for many reasons, first of all the story, I think it's one of the most exciting because it's full of adventures from the first chapter, and even though we only see Lucy and Edmund representing the Pevensie siblings who are so important to Narnia, C.S. Lewis's dynamic way of narrating and telling the facts doesn't allow us to miss the rest of the characters, you don't feel like anything is missing, on the contrary, you're eager to discover what will happen to the characters in this book and how they will interact with the new ones, like Eustace for example. Also, at my age I love illustrated books. In this case, Pauline Baynes' illustrations seem very appropriate to me because they convey the emotions described by Lewis, they have a classic medieval style but at the same time they have a particular charm.
Amo el libro por muchas razones, en primer lugar la historia, creo que es una de las más emocionantes porque está llena de aventuras desde el primer capítulo, y a pesar de que solo vemos a Lucy y a Edmund en representación de los hermanos Pevensie que son tan importantes para Narnia, la forma tan dinámica de C.S Lewis de narrar y de contar los hechos no permite que extrañemos al resto de personajes, no sientes que falta algo, al contrario, estás ansioso por descubrir lo que le sucederá a los personajes de este libro y como interactuarán con los nuevos, como Eustace por ejemplo. Además, a mi edad amo los libros ilustrados. En este caso las ilustraciones de Pauline Baynes me parecen muy adecuadas porque transmiten las emociones descritas por Lewis, tienen un estilo clásico medieval pero al mismo tiempo tienen un encanto particular.
In this book, as in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, the characters face temptations in some challenges, which connect them with their most human and imperfect side, but at the same time we have tremendous character developments, as in the case of Eustace after being turned into a dragon because of his greed. The encounter with Aslan in the process in which the boy recovers his old body is more than moving, it is epic and a great lesson for life, regret hurts, it hurts a lot because it is experiencing firsthand the consequences of your bad actions, but it is necessary to be able to evolve and transform into a human being in the full sense of the word.
En este libro, al igual que en El León, La Bruja y El Armario, los personajes enfrentan tentaciones en algunos desafíos, las cuales los conectan con su parte más humana e imperfecta, pero al mismo tiempo tenemos tremendos desarrollos de personaje, como en el caso de Eustace después de quedar convertido en dragón por causa de su codicia. El encuentro con Aslan en el proceso en el que el niño recupera su antiguo cuerpo es más que conmovedor, es épico y una gran lección para la vida, el arrepentimiento duele, duele mucho porque es experimentar en carne propia las consecuencias de tus malas acciones, pero es necesario para poder evolucionar y transformarte en un ser humano en todo el sentido de la palabra.
Another thing that filled me with emotion is that at the end the characters are close to Aslan's country, a celestial place that is on a higher level, (everyone who has read The Chronicles of Narnia knows who Aslan really is and why he is so important) but on the other hand the two Penvensie siblings (Lucy and Edmund) will no longer be able to return to Narnia and that is the only thing that in a certain way overshadows the moment, however we already knew it because when you get older you can no longer enter Narnia.
Otra cosa que me llenó de emoción es que al final los personajes están cerca del país de Aslan, un lugar celestial que está en un nivel más elevado, (todos los que han leído Las Crónicas de Narnia saben quién es Aslan en realidad y porqué es tan importante) pero por otra parte los dos hermanos Penvensie (Lucy y Edmund) ya no podrán regresar a Narnia y es lo único que de cierta manera opaca el momento, sin embargo ya lo sabíamos pues cuando te haces mayor ya no puedes entrar a Narnia.
This book is not only fun and entertaining, it also invites us to reflect on our own lives because it delves into reflections on human nature and how we confront the world: injustice, temptation, and power. In my opinion, it's a book you can enjoy at any age, but if you read it as an adult, you'll discover many things you might have missed as a child, as it's a book with a lot of depth.
Este libro no solo es divertido y entretenido, también nos invita a reflexionar sobre nuestras propias vidas porque profundiza en reflexiones sobre la naturaleza humana y su forma de enfrentarse al mundo: las injusticia, las tentaciones y el poder. En mi opinión es un libro que puedes disfrutar a cualquier edad pero si lo lees en la adultez descubrirás muchas cosas que siendo niño podrías pasar por alto, ya que es un libro con mucha profundidad.
