Earlier today, I was just sitting quietly, and for some reason, I started paying attention to the shadows around me. There was this clear shadow of my colleague that appeared on the door as he stood outside. You could tell it was him even without opening the door, the way he always folds his arms while waiting, that shape was right there in the shadow.

Then I looked down and saw the shadow of my laptop on the tiled floor, looking like a black, flat box, yet somehow showing how thin and sleek it really is. It felt like even shadows have a way of describing things.

What caught my eye most was the shadow on the wall, the exact mark of where our flat screen TV hangs. Even though the TV wasn’t on, its shadow reminded me of how big and well positioned it is.

Sometimes, shadows tell stories without making a sound.
