The Leaning Cross Et Al.

Whew! Sunday is almost over for us on this side of the northern hemisphere. I wonder if it's just me but it feels like some days are longer than others. It probably depends on what we do and how we spend our time. Today, we did a lot of napping and lazying, even my pet child was quiet most of the afternoon. It was unlikely of him but I kind of like it.😅

Anyhow, today, I'm sharing some photographs taken during our road trip somewhere in Bauko, Mountain Province.

We had been driving for a while when the husband noticed the church grounds at his side of the road and decided to pull over so we could take a break and have a look around. We had a fun time there and the generous sunlight even allowed us to play with shadows.

I wanted to take photos of the cross shadows and the farmboy thought they could play along and these were the results. Not the best shots and angles but here they are anyway, lol!

The Cross of St. Gilbert or what they call the Portate Cross but I would refer to it as the leaning cross in this write-up. We had no idea why it was placed on that side of the area but we believed it might have some significance to the history of the church. We don't think it was installed there only as a part of the landscape.

Interestingly, the cross shadow in this photo appeared like a V atop the shadow cast by the rock.

Anyway, apart from the cross, we also photographed some other shadows in that place. Below was by the stairs when we were going down to the lower grounds. Captured in a rush as I heard someone coming out from the second floor of the church, lol!

Also quickly took the shadows of the railings while my little guy was busy running around the grass. It was almost 3 pm at that time but the sun's heat was still strong.

g

And this was when we were going back to the upper grounds. My Anyongi just couldn't help it and kept running to the point that he was panting and catching his breath. I didn't realize then that this shot had his faint shadows.😁

Here's a closer look with his tongue sticking out, lol! Please pardon the blurry shot.

As we were leaving, I noticed some shadows behind the glass walls of a closed room by the exit. There were reflections too, of the cross, some trees, rocks, plants, the mom and her child (we met them as we were coming out), of the church and its grounds, and even the concrete barriers.

And that was it. Will be sharing more about our adventure in this place on another day. This publication is made specifically for my participation in the 310th Edition of the Shadow Hunters challenge by Melinda.

Thanks for coming along😉 Enjoy your day (night) wherever you may be.

I think you don't miss any Shadow photograph and you are doing so rapidly that someday shadows will run away after seeing you🤣. !LOL
Another thing to ask? How much storage left in your smartphone 😅? How you can capture so many photographs in regular basis 🤔?

How is it possible? I used to think I take fewer photographs but instead of deleting photographs after transferring photographs is PC I managed the storage of my mobile.

You always snap one of the Best pictures on hive.
The funny thing here is that you hunt down every shadow in this area 🤣🤣🤣

My Sunday didn't go at first the way I want it to go but I am still grateful how it goes

That's the way to go. We cannot have complete control of how our days would go but being thankful makes it better.
