reflections 193: street light in the rain
i don't usually go out walking with my camera phone after dark but here in November it gets dark so early that occasionally if i don't get a chance during daylight i roam the streets to get some exercise and fresh air.
it's no problem if there's a light rain as long as it's not too windy. well a few nights ago i came by this puddle that was reflecting a street light. i wanted to see how some photos would look with the light raindrops on the puddle.
the first shot was from a distance and this next one closer up
i like the starry look and the freaky pole but the street light was so overexposed so i took some shots with higher shutter speed settings
that was cool, abstract and otherworldly. i liked it a lot but it was still overexposed so i tried an even higher shutter speed
this was fast enough to separate the bulbs in the lamp. the rain disturbed the surface of the puddle to give it a spooky look that was continually changing so i took a few more shots at slightly lower shutter speeds to get a reflection of more than just the bulbs
now i have to pick one of these for the contest entry. any suggestions?
thanks
