entry smash 245 mushroom mountain
(Edited)

we were out picking mushrooms a few days ago and went to our favorite spot for funnel chantrelles or yellowlegs Craterellus tubaeformis. we had been there earlier and found quite a few but there were many very young ones.
so when we went back the other day this time they were plentiful. we filled our baskets and when we got home i took this shot on the kitchen floor holding a bright flashlight in one hand and the camera in the other.
the flashlight gives a bluish colored light so the shadow has an orange tone. this is interesting because it is the opposite of the more customary orange sunlight giving blue toned shadows

Are these the same mushrooms that make your soul feel light and fun, and fantastic images are born in your head? 🤣🤣🤣
lol if they were i woudn't land for a decade🛸
Or maybe we are a figment of your imagination? Or rather, the fruit of the work of mushrooms? 😂😂😂
with or without shrooms, any way you look at it, reality is different than whatever our perception of it indicates.

Beautiful shot! the shadow looks like fire to me!
thanks a lot. some of that fiery look is from the brightness and blueness of the flashlight, giving an orange tone to the shadow. this is opposite of orange sunlight giving bluish shadows
thanks once again
thanks again for your continued support. it is very much appreciated
You're welcome @eolianpariah2
Orange and blue light shadows. I learn something new all the time! That looks like a delicious bowl full of chantrelles! And a great shadow! Thanks for entering the shadow contest again 🌞
the color of shadows is fascinating and complex and i have heard many different opinions on the subject. here is one from Greg Partridge on Quora: The shadow is not orange, but it may appear so to a human observer. Your eyes will adjust to the available light, so in a blue light, blue will become, to the optical part of your brain, the “new white”. Anything that is less blue, like the shadow, will be “corrected” to orange by your brain, since that’s the opposite color to blue and therefore the color that is “less blue” than white.
then again maybe it depends on the camera or what the shadow is cast on or the screen you are viewing the image on...
anyway the photo is not edited so it is not due to that!
Fascinating!
