Childhood Memories that I will not forget in a hurry. Prompt 38

Mumsy had instructed me to wash the plates once I get back from school.

I forgot to wash the plate and went to my friend's house to play.

By the time I got back home. It was already dark.
I opened the door and tiptoed in. Everywhere was dark.
I tried locating the chair where mumsy use to sit to know if she was back from work.

As my hand landed on the chair, that was how her own hand landed on my face tawaaaii.

Brethren,

That moment I couldn't even see again,
The Earth was without Form and Void.
I was staggering.
I couldn't breathe.

My mum thundered: Shedrack, where are you coming from and why didn't you wash the plates I instructed you to wash.
As she was talking, so many things was landing on me. 😁
Since then, if I hear Shedrack come to our house and play.

Me: 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

*I Love Reading Everything While Coming Up
When I was in primary school, I read everything readable. I would pick papers on the road to read what was written on them😳

Everytime my dear dad buys suya for us, I can never throw the paper away without reading it😂

I didn't know my teachers were taking note, have even seen me picking paper on the road...
I was reported to my mother🥲

I didn't know she knows but was waiting for opportunity to get the issue tackled...na so I take enter " no picking paper sanction"😂😂

One fateful day, I forgot before I could get home, report has reached home before me...chai... My mother is really dealt with me ( she said it's from picking paper to mad*ness😂)
The school was not left out...I learnt the hard way😂😂

If I see paper, I just face front 🏃🏃🏃.

*Childhood Memories and Life Lessons

I still vividly remember a holiday trip to my grandma's place when I was little. One particular night stands out in my memory. We had bought candles earlier that day because there was no light and no fuel in the generator. My grandma bought the candles, and we were thrilled because we were eager to play our favorite game with them.

Just as we were about to start, our grandma told us she needed to go out for a bit. Before leaving, she lit the candle, looked us straight in the eye, and warned us not to switch it off or play with it.

As soon as she left, my siblings and I exchanged mischievous glances. We knew we weren't supposed to play with the candle, but we just couldn't resist. After a while, we sneakily approached the candle, our hearts beating with excitement. We started playing with it, touching the flame and quickly pulling our hands back.

"'I caught the candle, and it didn't burn me! I touched the fire, and it didn't burn me!' we would exclaim. We even used the candle wax to create nail art on our fingers. My siblings, cousins, and I tried it, except for one cousin who just watched, thinking of a way to join in.

"We continued our game, taking turns and laughing together and having a wicked thought to ourselves that whoever they catch, it's their problem . One of our cousins watched us, fascinated, and eventually decided to try. As soon as she touched the flame, the candle went out, and boom! My grandma walked in and caught her in the act. We all burst into laughter, and my cousin got punished. We couldn't help but laugh – it was such a funny moment!

"Looking back, I realize how silly we were. We knew better than to play with fire, but we just couldn't resist. Luckily, no one got hurt, and we learned a valuable lesson. That holiday was full of amazing memories, and this incident is still one of my favorites.

Here are the life lessons I learned from that experience:
Few Things I Regretted Doing During My Childhood:

I wish I've listen to every bit of the instructions my parents gave me

I will never assume what works for others will work for me.

I will be cautious when following others.
I will never do things just because others are doing them.
Everyone's grace is different.

I will be myself and never to be compare to others.

I have resolved to learn from others' mistakes.

I've chosen to appreciate the wisdom of elders.

To Be mindful of my surroundings.
I regretted not taken responsibility for my actions.

I regretted being influenced by peer pressure.

Regretted not being patient and for rushing into things.
