Lies and Truths in Colours: A Colourful or a Chaotic World?
A world where colours are markers for truths and lies, honesty and dishonesty? A captivating discourse. Well, let's get in.
One of the greatest desires of humans is to be treated with honesty. People don't really want a liar for a friend or a relationship. When we are lied to, especially face-to-face and point blank, it hits the core of our human emotions. More so, from those we trust or call friends or are in some way close to us. Many times, this leaves us as humans seeking to find truth, especially amidst the lies in disguise.
We all wish to be treated with honesty, so a lie isn't welcome, if we're honest with ourselves. Lies and denials betray trust and do a bad job on justice. Hence, no one would like to be on the receiving end. That's why people go as far as some deep personal means to uncover the truth. Paths they wouldn't probably take. Also, some institutions are set in place for this reason.

Okay, bringing all of these into view, what would the world be like if colours were indicators of lies and truths? Let's say, when a person lies, a red colour appears upon their head and when they say the truth, a green colour appears. It would be a colourful world, don't you think? I presume that we'll be surrounded by colours.
For the children who like to lie to their parents, this would be a bad situation for them. What of our “wonderful” politicians who are synonymous with lies? How about that lying boyfriend and girlfriend, husband and wife? Just everybody. So, let's say, what would it mean for the world at large?
Perhaps, it would mean that people will start becoming honest and truthful. Since it can't be hidden, they have no choice but to be true about the situation. Maybe we might see a decline in some of the dishonest acts in our society and world today. This could also present a world where people are responsible for their deeds and actions, in honesty.
I see that if this is the case, there would be no need for some interventions to find out the truth. The torture of individuals from organisations that are tasked with security and finding out the truth would be eradicated. Maybe. However, all these will be true if people don't find a way to “hack” whatever could be the medium through which the truth or the lie in their statements is revealed.

Beyond all these, I presume a chaotic world. Maybe more chaotic than this. If the world works in this sense that we can't decipher truth or lie that easily, as opposed to using colours hovering like halos to recognise that, then there's a reason. It's not a mistake that it is so. Imagine you're moving and you keep on seeing colours everywhere. It could be chaotic.
This could lead to a lot of intentional and unintentional eavesdropping. You can't help seeing these colours and recognising someone just lied. People would want to unnecessarily question others which could lead to an abuse of the system. Since truth or lie can't be hidden, why not just ask? Matters that could be resolved privately would become highly public. Many in their rage would give no care to how to handle things better, and this would mean a lot of feed for the media.
While I understand the plight of people when it comes to honesty and dishonesty, and how such a world could be impactful, I also like to look beyond. And to also understand that there are reasons why the world is the way it is. What we could perceive as the systems we need as opposed to the natural order could be shocking. So, I presume that such might lead to a chaotic world, more than we could imagine.

And if a truth, such a world might look good on the surface, but deep down it would only cause more chaos.
Thanks for sharing such a thoughtful piece.
