Grrraaatitude!
It's May, the fifth month of the year. You could say we're deep into the year already, or just some months into it, since we're yet halfway through. Nonetheless, it's the second quarter of the year, and from my view the year is a lot in already. How time flies. It was like yesterday was January and now it's the month of May.
In all of this; counting the months and considering how far the year is, my mind is drawn to how grateful I could be for the year so far. Yes, a lot happened and is still happening, but choosing to look at the bigger picture and see beyond stands tall for me.
Counting and numbering these days so far, there is a lot to be grateful for. It takes a grateful mind and heart to look beyond circumstances and the negativity; only then will a person find the right attitude to be positive and grateful amidst the various tragedies, difficulties, and unpalatable experiences. I'm particularly grateful for a number of things, so far so good.
Life! Yes, the gift and preservation of life is one thing I take not for granted. It's funny how we could get swallowed up by the busyness and bustle of life that life itself won't really seem valuable to us, as it should be. For every moment I wake up, I move around, I go out and come back safely, it's a thing to be grateful about; for the life preserved, cared and protected.
Someone said, "going out and coming back safely is one privilege that has been underrated." I stand to agree, considering how much I've taken short but frequent journeys. Going out, taking a vehicle and getting back home safe can seem normal, but almost every moment of this possibility draws me to gratitude for safety and preservation.
We could be working hard, doing a lot so as to earn some income to provide our needs and that of the family. One aspect of the human nature can determine if this will be possible or not—our health. So far so good, my health has been a good thing; I'll say it like that. Being able to enjoy a good, healthy ride to this point of the year, it's a lot to be thankful for. "Health is wealth" is more than just a quote, but a fully affirmed reality, and I'm grateful for this great wealth.
Relationships! I can't forget that. One of the best blessings and gifts a person can have and be grateful for is that of quality and valuable relationships. New relationships and associations were established, and the old ones are getting better. To have a group of people I can reach out to in times of need and know they have my back, that's a lot to overlook. I've been blessed with a good number of friends who are wonderful and I'm thankful for—even on this platform.
Lastly, growth. I mean, what's life when you're not growing? There has been growth in different respects for me. One I'll be loud about is here on this platform. I've grown, I'm still growing and I'm glad about that. This has led to growth financially, skillfully and otherwise. Almost every post made and every post engaged has been a step towards growth, one so wonderful and remarkable.
These and more I'm thankful and grateful for, so far so good—or bad.
Images are mine.
