My Matriculation || The Experience

Matriculation is the formal process of entering a university, Polytechnic, and College of Education, or of becoming eligible to enter by fulfilling certain academic requirements such as a matriculation examination. It is coined from late latin word "Matricula" which means "public roll or register". It has been the culture of institutions round the world 🌎 that students who gain admission must be matriculated to be formally recognize as students of that institution.

Sometimes ago, February 2023 I Emmanuel Danjuma Angibi

was offered admission to study in one of the recognized college of education in Nigeria (NIGER STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, MINNA)

to study Chemistry/ Computer (school of sciences). With joy in my heart, I set out for school because I have been seeking for admission for the 3 years I was unable to get but I tried this once and I got admission, it was a good news to me. Getting admission was never enough, I then await eagerly for matriculation day. To me the day is not coming anytime soon because of the anxiety and eagerness to wear the matriculation gown and to feel among, since that will be my first time putting on that gown and of cause my first time of stepping into such environment.

My School finally schedule Saturday 8th April 2023 as matriculation day for the newly admitted students of the college. This news was so pleasant to both my hearing and to my heart at the same time even though to some it is just a normal day but to me, it was something more than being a normal day. I started making contact to my parents, family members and friends to come around and witness their son, friend been matriculated into college of education, especially when am the first to go to a higher institution among my siblings.
The day finally came, I was set to match into the hall, but it seems like the dignitary are not helping matters because they Arive the venue a bit late. On their arrival we were already seated in the hall waiting.
We have the executive governor of niger state, his excellency Muhammad Umaru Bago,

Provost of the college, Professor Yakubu Muhammad Auna,

the register Mrs. Hadiza Kolo among other dignitaries like the Dean's of different schools in the college, the HODS of of different department, the examiners and the SUG officials present to grace the occasion. I was so excited to meet a professor for the first time.
The occasion commence with Nigeria national anthem, after which the Governor came on stage congratulating us of been part of this occasion, follow by the provost of the college Professor Yakubu Muhammad Auna, in his speech he congratulate us and advice us as a father does to his children, telling us to focus on our primary assignment in the college which is to study, not only to study but to be disciplined and become better teacher in the nearest future,stating that second best is not good enough, as the school mottor clearly stated. After his speech, we took an aoth or aligence to the college and promised to abide by the governing rules and regulations guiding the college.
Since that was my first time of being in such atmosphere, I tried to make new friends, because others were celebrating with their loved ones but in my case I was all alone, none of my family members was in attendance due to distance and I clearly understand. Still in the spirit of matriculation, I make new friends one of which was Yahaya Halilu, abdullateef Hassan, Nathan Jethro, Omega Hillary, Florence Joshua, Shalom, ojijuma and the rest of them.

It was an experience I cannot forget. Indeed Everything work together for good to them that love him and are called according to his purpose, this scripture keep my hope alive wherever I go and In whatever I do. The facts that I was dinied admission for 3 years and I didn't gave up in search of admission is something else, this speak of consistency. He who is consistent, will definitely be rewarded at the end.

Thanks to God I am now a final year student.
The journey was never an easy one but God always showed up in the middle of the Storm and calmed it.
