[ENG/ESP] A Saturday of work, maintenance, and shared moments.
Hello, I hope you are having a great day and recharging your batteries for a great start to the week. It is always important to take a moment to breathe, give thanks, and prepare for what is to come. I am happy to say that today, Sunday, I will finally be able to rest a little and spend time with my family, something I value greatly. Yesterday, Saturday, I had to work again at Sunsol Ecoland, and I want to tell you how it all turned out, because it was a very productive and enjoyable day.
Since it was Saturday, I didn't have to go to the hotel so early, as they would be waiting for me at 8:30 AM. However, we decided to leave home early anyway so we could take our time on the trip and appreciate the beautiful landscapes the island has to offer. We went up Portachuelo, and the weather was excellent: not too hot or humid, ideal for enjoying the journey. I took the opportunity to capture some landscapes with my camera, because I always like to preserve those moments that nature gives us.

Siempre es importante tomarse un momento para respirar, agradecer y prepararse para lo que viene. Les cuento que hoy domingo finalmente podré descansar un poco y compartir tiempo con mi familia, algo que valoro muchísimo. Ayer sábado tuve que trabajar nuevamente en Sunsol Ecoland, y quiero contarles cómo resultó todo, porque fue una jornada bastante productiva y agradable.
Como era sábado, no tenía que dirigirme tan temprano al hotel, ya que me recibirían a las 8:30 AM. Sin embargo, igual decidimos salir de casa temprano para hacer el recorrido con calma y poder apreciar los hermosos paisajes que nos regala la isla. Subimos por Portachuelo, y la verdad es que el clima estaba excelente: ni muy caluroso ni muy húmedo, ideal para disfrutar del trayecto. Aproveché para capturar algunos paisajes con mi lente, porque siempre me gusta guardar esos momentos que nos regala la naturaleza.
When we arrived at Ecoland, the maintenance and security staff were already waiting for us. I love it when we work in constant coordination with them, because everything flows very smoothly, quickly, and efficiently. There is a special energy when we are all in sync, and it shows in the results.
That day, we only had to check the kitchen filters and do an efficient backwash to ensure water quality, which is always our main objective. It is essential to maintain high standards, especially in spaces where guests are served and food is handled.
Al llegar a Ecoland, ya el personal de mantenimiento y seguridad nos estaba esperando. Me encanta cuando trabajamos en continua coordinación con ellos, porque todo fluye muy bien, con rapidez y eficiencia. Hay una energía especial cuando todos estamos en sintonía, y eso se nota en los resultados.
Ese día solo teníamos que chequear los filtros de la cocina y hacer un retrolavado eficiente para garantizar la calidad del agua, que siempre es nuestro principal objetivo. Es fundamental mantener los estándares altos, sobre todo en espacios donde se atiende a los huéspedes y se trabaja con alimentos.
While performing maintenance, we also noticed some leaks around the faucets that we will need to check in the coming days. There is always work to be done, and it is part of our commitment to pay attention to every detail.
Mientras realizamos el mantenimiento, también notamos que por las llaves hay algunas goteras que debemos revisar en los próximos días. Siempre hay trabajo por hacer, y es parte de nuestro compromiso estar atentos a cada detalle.
After finishing with the filter, we walked through the hotel to our car. On the way, as always, I took the opportunity to admire how beautiful the facility is. Ecoland has a special charm, and every time I visit, I am surprised by how well maintained everything is.
Después de terminar con el filtro, salimos caminando por el hotel hasta llegar a nuestro carro. En ese trayecto, como siempre, aproveché para admirar lo hermosa que está la instalación. Ecoland tiene un encanto especial, y cada vez que lo visito me sorprende lo bien cuidado que está todo.
It was lunchtime, so we decided to find a place to have a snack. We went to the Crucero de Guacuco bakery, which is one of our favorites. We ordered some delicious cheese bread and a liter of apple soda for my husband and Luis. I opted for a chicken pie and a cold malt drink. I love this bakery because they always treat their customers well, and their products are very fresh, which makes every visit a delicious and enjoyable experience.
As usual, we toasted to the day's good results and took the opportunity to talk about what we need to improve. These conversations over snacks help us a lot, not only to fine-tune details of the work, but also to strengthen our bond as a team. It is in these simple moments that the best working relationships are built.
Ya era la hora de almuerzo, así que decidimos buscar un lugar donde merendar. Fuimos a la panadería Crucero de Guacuco, que es una de nuestras favoritas. Pedimos unos deliciosos panes de queso y un litro de refresco de manzana para mi esposo y Luis. En mi caso, opté por un pastel de pollo y una malta bien fría. Esta panadería me encanta porque siempre tienen un buen trato con los clientes, y sus productos son muy frescos, lo que hace que cada visita sea una deliciosa experiencia agradable.
Como es costumbre, brindamos por el buen resultado del día y aprovechamos para conversar sobre lo que debemos mejorar. Estas charlas mientras merendamos nos ayudan mucho, no solo para afinar detalles del trabajo, sino también para fortalecer nuestro vínculo como equipo. Es en esos momentos sencillos donde se construyen las mejores relaciones laborales.
After finishing our snack, we headed home to rest and recharge our batteries. It was a day of work, yes, but also of connection, learning, and good times. That's how our Saturday went, between chores, scenery, good food, and camaraderie.

Amiga Tania lo que cuentas transmite mucha serenidad, porque a pesar de ser un día de trabajo lograste disfrutarlo de principio a fin. Desde el recorrido por la isla, el clima agradable, hasta la organización del equipo en Ecoland, todo se siente como una jornada productiva pero también amena. Me gustó mucho la parte de la panadería. Al final, lo que queda no es solo la labor cumplida, sino también esos pequeños momentos que se vuelven memorables.
