[ENG/ESP] A quiet Sunday before starting the weekly routine.
We are starting a new week of work, and I hope it will be a productive one for everyone. I am sure mine will be too. This week, some tourists will begin to leave the island, which means that little by little, everything will return to normal. The usual pace of life will be restored, and with it, the tranquility that those of us who live here year-round value so much.
Yesterday, Sunday, was a special day because I was finally able to rest. I didn't have to work, which is a gift in itself. We took advantage of that free time to go grocery shopping and fill up on gas, preparing ourselves for the week ahead. I like to organize my week so that the following days flow more calmly.
After resting a bit at home and spending some time with our birds, we left the house. This time, with the intention of stocking up on some necessary items for the week. The weather was beautiful, with clear skies, which made the walk even more enjoyable.
Comenzamos una nueva semana de trabajo, y desde ya les deseo que sea muy productiva para todos. Estoy segura de que la mía lo será también. Esta semana comenzarán a retirarse algunos turistas de la Isla, lo que significa que poco a poco todo volverá a la normalidad. El ritmo habitual de vida se irá restableciendo, y con ello, la tranquilidad que tanto valoramos quienes vivimos aquí todo el año.
Ayer domingo fue un día especial, porque finalmente pude descansar. No tuve que trabajar, lo cual ya es un regalo en sí mismo. Aprovechamos ese tiempo libre para hacer mercado y colocar combustible, preparándonos así para la semana que comienza. Me gusta organizarme el dónde semana para hacen que los días siguientes fluyan con más calma.
Después de descansar un poco en casa y dedicarle tiempo a las aves que tenemos, salimos de casa. Esta vez, con la intención de abastecernos de algunas cosas necesarias para la semana. El clima era hermoso, con un cielo despejado y hacía el paseo aún más agradable.
We passed through Ratan, a place I particularly love because of the cheese they sell there. It's delicious, and I buy it whenever I get the chance. Unfortunately, I can't go during the week because I'm completely tied up with work and don't have the time or the opportunity to make a detour. So I took advantage of Sunday to treat myself.
Pasamos por Ratan, un lugar que me encanta especialmente por el queso que ofrecen. Es delicioso, y siempre que tengo la oportunidad lo compro. Lamentablemente, durante la semana no puedo ir porque el trabajo me ocupa por completo y no me queda tiempo ni camino para desviarme. Así que aproveché el domingo para darme ese gusto.
With everything we needed in our bags, we decided to go to the Rio market to grab something to eat. In the food court, we found an option we loved: fresh salad, potatoes, and grilled meat, accompanied by a apple soda that we really like. Everything was delicious, and best of all, I didn't have to cook it myself. That allowed me to continue resting and enjoying the moment without any worries.
Con todo lo necesario en nuestras bolsas, decidimos entrar al mercado Río con la idea de comer algo. En el área de comida encontramos una opción que nos encantó: ensalada fresca, papas y carne asada, acompañadas por un refresco de manzanita que nos gusta muchísimo. La verdad es que todo estaba muy delicioso, y lo mejor de todo es que no tuve que cocinarlo yo. Eso me permitió seguir descansando y disfrutar del momento sin preocupaciones.
Satisfied and with our shopping done, we headed to fill up on fuel. Luckily, Los Cerritos gas station, one of our favorites, was open. We go there whenever we can. It has something special, perhaps because of the service or the location. At that station, there is a large ship's anchor that always catches my eye. It's imposing and mysterious. Every time I see it, I wonder if it's just a decoration or if it has a story behind it, some connection to the maritime past. So far, I haven't been able to find any information about it, but I haven't given up hope of discovering its origin one day.
Ya satisfechos y con las compras hechas, nos dirigimos a colocar combustible. Por suerte, estaba abierta la bomba de Los Cerritos, una de nuestras favoritas. Siempre que podemos, vamos allí. Tiene algo especial, quizás por la atención o por la ubicación. En esa estación hay un ancla de barco grande que siempre me llama la atención. Es imponente y misteriosa. Cada vez que la veo me pregunto si será solo un adorno o si tendrá alguna historia detrás, alguna conexión con el pasado marítimo. Hasta ahora no he podido conseguir información al respecto, pero no pierdo la esperanza de descubrir algún día su origen.
After filling up with fuel, we returned home to continue our restful break. It is important to recharge our batteries so we can start the week in the best possible mood and with as much energy as possible. These moments of pause are ideal for preparing ourselves to face the working week with enthusiasm.
Well, dear friends, that's how our Sunday went: relaxing, shopping, enjoying good food, and savoring the little pleasures that make life more bearable, such as the beautiful landscapes that the island has to offer. Después de colocar el combustible, regresamos a casa para continuar con nuestro reparador descanso. Es importante recargar energías para comenzar la semana con el mejor ánimo y toda la vitalidad posible.
