Welcoming Our Dear Friends From Overseas: Creating A Special Program To Celebrate Their Arrival
It was a cheerful Friday night when we all gathered in the backyard, eager to welcome our dear friends, who were visiting from overseas.
The air was filled with excitement and warm smiles as everyone brought dishes and decorations.
To make the night even more memorable, we created a special program to celebrate their arrival.
We started by brainstorming activities that would showcase our culture and include our visitor's interests.
Each of us prepared a short presentation sharing traditional songs or dances.
When we stepped onto the stage, the audience erupted in applause.
As representatives of our respective countries, we were about to share songs, each one telling a story.
I took the mic first and began to sing:
"Waiting there as our plane came in,
You were reaching out to greet us.
Then the music starts, and the day begins,
And our love grows even more."
The crowd swayed to the music.
Then, it was Aliyah's turn. She took the mic and sang:
"It’s good to know
That we have family ev’rywhere we go—
From Mali to Mexico,
From Japan to Jamaica."
The audience applauded wildly as we finished our songs.
We also created a fun trivia game.
As the program unfolded, our visitors got teary-eyed with appreciation.
We ended the night by exchanging small souvenirs and promising to keep in touch.
That get-together highlights that love and
friendship can indeed transcend borders and cultures.
Despite our differences, we can come together, understand each other, and form strong bonds.
Love knows no boundaries.
Until our next bonds... Buh-bye. 👋🫶
Great hospitality I see here, it's always a thing of joy when others find pleasure and fun in our cultures and from the looks of things your friends really did
