Holidaying And Moon Gazing!
Recalling the past holiday I spent in the village, I had mentioned it was one of the best I'd had in years. This is because of how intentional I was in living in the moment - savoring every bit of it, and embracing every experience, no matter how small.
I've written about some highlights of my village adventures in my previous posts, and this post is a continuum. In fact, this is the most exciting one because it's one of my favorite things to do. Hehehe. If you've been following my blog, you'd be able to guess it right. Wait, you can't? Eeish! No worries, I'm already here to tell you. Lol.
One of my favorite spots at home is the kitchen. No, I'm not diving into food today, so cut that look. Hehehe. This is mainly because from the window, I have a full view of the sky - watching the birds fly by, the sun rise and the moon glow, plus the twinlkes of the stars. In all of these activities, I love watching the moon most, because of how it adds magic to the night, bringing a sense of peace and tranquility. Hope you're getting the deal now? 😂
So while at the village during the holidays, I still enjoyed moon gazing. You know, full moon (100% illumination) occurs every month, and for January, it was on the 3rd.
Interestingly, the January full is called the Wolf Moon because according to Native American and Medieval European traditions, it's the time of year when wolves howl their loudest, likely due to food scarcity and harsh winter conditions. Well, there's no wolves here, so no howls heard. However, the nocturnal calls from the owls, and the churring sounds from the night birds also called Nightjars, filled the air.
However, I didn't get to watch the moon until on the 4th. 1:44AM (WAT), I was out at the frontyard, having a time of my life. The moon was already in waning gibbous, but was still bright. Like I always do, I'd capture some photos to preserve the moment - even though doing so with a mobile device is usually tough. This time around was no different.
It was even tougher because it was pretty cloudy and the clouds kept covering the moon. But it was beautiful scene to watch. But as it's often said, nothing can ever cover the moon.
Well, I managed to snap a couple of shots anyway, and I think the outcome wasn't so bad. But I leave you to be the judge. Let me know what you think of the photos.

And that's a wrap. Keep an eye on this space for more of my holidaying adventures.

The same thing happens with my kitchen; it has a beautiful view from here :)
Oh, that's lovely. Guess all kitchens should be built that way. Hehehe.

La luna por estos días también a estado genial, aunque por acá hay un frío últimamente que no se puede ni salir, saludos.
The moon has also been great these days, although it's been so cold here lately that you can't even go outside. Best regards.
Yes, it's been showing up every night, although not so bright any more. I can imagine the feeling of not going outside to watch the moon. Luckily, we have a warm weather here, so one can go out to watch it, but I always prefer my kitchen window. 😍
Thanks for coming around.
Have a great day.
